Environmental Management Term Paper 1

FORMAT FOR TERM PAPER

This document deals with the format of the term paper to be submitted by students as a requirement
for assessment in the course Environmental Management. Extra marks shall be awarded for strictly
adherence to this format and expression. British English, and not American English, should be used
throughout the document.

Font type: Times New Roman

Font Size: 12 points unless otherwise stated

Line spacing: Double (2.0).

Tables and Diagrams: These should be labeled according to the chapters e.g. the first two Tables in
Chapter 2 would be labeled thus: Table 2.1, Table 2.2, etc.

Page Layout: The margins should be 1 inch on all sides (left, right, top, and bottom).

COVER PAGE

The cover page should have the following:

I. Institution’s name (in caps) and logo


II. Title of the term paper (14 points)
III. Student’s name and index number
IV. Course Code and Title
V. Month and Year of submission

TABLE OF CONTENTS

The table of contents should be done using the automatic table of contents feature in Microsoft word.

ABSTRACT

The abstract should contain a brief summary of the entire work. Not more than half a page.

CHAPTER ONE – INTRODUCTION

This section should introduce the topic to the reader. It should include the definitions of terms and
variables were necessary. If the review is based on certain specific objectives, they should be stated
here.

CHAPTER TWO – LITERATURE REVIEW

The main discussions regarding the topic should be done here. This section should be written under
various sub sections indicated by proper numbering and labeling e.g. 2.1, 2.1.1, 2.3, 2.3.1.2 etc.

CHAPTER THREE – CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

3. 1 Conclusions.

3.2 Recommendations.

REFERENCES

All sources cited should be duly referenced using the APA system. Refer to the institution’s
Dissertation Guide for the APA referencing style.

NUMBER OF PAGES

The term paper should not be less than 8 pages (from the introduction to conclusion).
