PROFESSIONAL LEARNING NETWORK PLAN

WHAT IT IS
A Professional Learning Network is a flexible,
teacher driven activity space that facilitates
personalized professional development. A PLN
connects teachers to other individuals
worldwide who can offer support, advice,
feedback, and collaboration opportunities.
PLNs allow teachers to collect information from
various websites and access it in one organized
area so they can stay up-to-date on the latest
teaching techniques, pedagogies, and changes
in the field of education. (Trust, 2011)

PLNs offered at Winder-Barrow High School

After interviewing my assistant principal, Jessica Rehberg, I
became aware of several professional learning networks
available to teachers and staff in the building. Currently,
teachers are only recommended to participate in their
content area PLC group.

Christie's PLN Goal and Action Plan

Three PLNs that I plan to participate in while I build my professional
learning network are the Microsoft Innovative Educator, ISTE and EdSurges.
I plan to interact with these networks by following them on Twitter. All
three PLNs offer a digital newsletter that I have already signed up for and
they offer a multitude of resources on their respective webpages. My goal
is to interact with these networks weekly via my Twitter account.
