HISTORY : Heartburn and weight loss for past 1 year. lump felt over epigastric area.
Hepatic parenchymal echogenicity is diffusely increased, which can be seen with focal fatty infiltrations;
this slightly limits sonographic sensitivity for detection of focal lesions, however no focal lesion is seen.
Portal vein is patent and of normal calibre. No intra or extrahepatic biliary dilatation is seen. Gall bladder
and spleen outlines normally. Spleen measures 9.3 cm. Pancreas could not be visualised due to
overlying bowel shadows.
Both kidneys demonstrate normal cortical echogenicity with well preserved corticomedullary
demarcation. Right kidney measures 9.4 cm from pole to pole while left kidney measures 10.9 cm. No
obvious cysts, calculi or hydronephrosis seen on either side.
