 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Our Study intends to bring back the Iplay Internet café company whi

meeting the standards for submission to our lecturer. In view of the issue

conventional internet cafes face, such as technical improvements, pe

gadgets, and inexpensive home internet.

The study that we created aims to make recommendation

reintroducing the Iplay Internet cafe to the market. We learned po

processes that may be utilized to revive the business and impro

competitiveness through our study.

 INTRODUCTION

We discovered a computer repair shop that used to operate as a computer

rental store called IPLAY, it is located on Galicia Street, Sampaloc Manila. The

owner of the shop is Sir Ivan. The establishment started in 2010 and initially

equipped with 15 brand new computers, 1 server computer, 1 modem, 1 switch,

and 3 printers. It is worth noting that each computer was priced at 20,000 pesos

when the shop first opened in 2010. During its operation, the shop charged 20

pesos per hour and 10 pesos for 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the shop had to

close down during the pandemic due to the prevailing circumstances, and all of

their computers, server, and network components became outdated.

The computer shop is currently utilizing a client-server network

architecture. Our recommendation is to replace all the existing computers,

particularly the server computer, with brand new ones to enhance overall speed

and performance. Additionally, upgrading their network components such as the

router, modem, and switch would be beneficial. If they decide to resume their

business operations, it is essential for them to stay competitive in their area, as

all the other computer shops have already adopted a modern architecture. By

keeping up with their competitors, they can ensure they meet the expectations

and demands of their customers in today's technology-driven market.

 ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEM

GENERAL PROBLEM

In recent years, Iplay internet cafes have faced many problems.

Technology advancements, personal devices, and affordable home internet have

made traditional internet cafes less popular. This analysis aims to uncover the

main challenges and reasons behind the decline of Iplay internet cafes.

SPECIFIC PROBLEM

This are the following specific problem that the contributor’s found during

research:

1. Problem number 1.

Technological Obsolescence:

Iplay internet cafés are currently grappling with a significant issue

known as technology obsolescence. In the past, when desktop computers

were the primary means of accessing the internet, numerous older internet

cafés emerged. Nevertheless, the popularity of specialized desktop

computers has declined due to the advancements in laptops, tablets, and

smartphones. Consequently, these cafés have become less appealing to

 tech-savvy individuals who prefer using their own devices, mainly because

of the outdated equipment and software they offer.

2. Problem number 2.

Changing Consumer Expectations:

Over time, consumer expectations have changed, placing a strong

emphasis on convenience, comfort, and modern facilities. Iplay internet

cafes frequently face challenges in meeting these expectations due to

their outdated infrastructure, limited seating, and absence of comfortable

workspaces. Nowadays, customers are looking for establishments that

provide a favorable environment for both work and leisure, which is often

lacking in older internet cafes.

3. Problem number 3.

Availability of Affordable Home Internet:

Affordable home internet connections have made internet cafes

less popular. With residential internet services becoming more affordable

and reliable, people now prefer accessing the internet from their own

homes. This convenience has resulted in a decrease in customers for

Iplay internet cafes.

 ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEM

GENERAL SOLUTION

Iplay internet cafes are facing significant challenges in recent years due to

various factors such as technology advancements, personal devices, and

affordable home internet. These changes have led to a decline in the popularity

of traditional internet cafes. To address this decline, Iplay internet cafes need to

adapt and innovate. Diversifying services beyond just internet access and

incorporating additional offerings such as computer repairs, software

installations, and IT support can attract a wider customer base.

SPECIFIC SOLUTION

This are the following specific problem that the contributor’s found during

research:

1. Solution number 1.

Upgrade hardware and software: Invest in modern Desktop,

Network Components and their Internet with up-to-date specs and

software. This will entice customers who want to use their own devices by

providing a better user experience.

2. Solution number 2.

Renovate and enhance the infrastructure: Spend money

refurbishing the café area to make it more modern and appealing. This

might entail renovating the seating area, providing comfy furniture,

enhancing lighting and ventilation, and making sure the entire environment

is appealing to clients.

3. Solution number 3.

Customized services and packages: Provide customized services

and packages that cater to unique demands that may not be met by

household internet connections. You might, for example, provide high-

speed internet connections that are especially tailored for online gaming,

video streaming, or massive file downloads. Highlight the benefits of using

the cafe's internet for these activities.

 RECOMMENDATION

Upon conducting a thorough analysis, several key recommendations have

been identified to address the general problem at hand and propose a

comprehensive solution. These suggestions aim to enhance the overall

performance and competitiveness of the organization, taking into consideration

the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Firstly, it is highly recommended to upgrade all existing desktop systems,

including the pivotal server computer, to their modern counterparts. Embracing

the latest technological advancements is vital for the organization to stay abreast

of its competitors and effectively leverage cutting-edge tools and features.

Upgrading the server computer specifically holds paramount importance as it

plays a central role in facilitating efficient data processing and ensuring optimal

system performance.

Secondly, A major refurbishment and upgrade of the Iplay Internet cafe's

infrastructure is suggested to revive it. This includes replacing uncomfortable

furniture in the seating area, enhancing lighting and ventilation, and creating an

aesthetically pleasant setting. These improvements are intended to attract

visitors by offering a modern and appealing environment, hence boosting the

café's appeal and customer satisfaction. Although this procedure necessitates a

financial expenditure, the possible rewards include recruiting new clients and

gaining a competitive advantage in the market.

 Furthermore, evaluating the current internet service provider (ISP) and

considering a transition to a faster and more reliable alternative is imperative. A

robust and dependable internet connection forms the backbone of smooth

business operations, facilitating efficient communication within and outside the

organization. Therefore, opting for an ISP that can provide a minimum speed of

100 Mbps or higher will cater to the ever-increasing demand for high-speed data

transfer and successfully meet future scalability requirements.

Our team is entirely committed to the project's success, appreciating its

importance to both the business and our studies. We have the necessary

understanding and competence in desktop computers and networking

technologies to efficiently implement the needed updates and additions. We will

construct a technologically advanced and efficient desktop environment by

carefully selecting and integrating modern hardware and software components.

Furthermore, our expertise in dealing with network devices and peripherals will

result in a strong and dependable network, allowing for seamless communication

and data transfer. We are devoted to achieving great outcomes, which are

motivated by our commitment to our job and our pursuit of high academic

standards.

Network Layout

We highly recommend implementing the Bus Topology for the

network layout as it offers a cost-effective solution. In this setup, each
client computer and the server will be connected to the main
communication line using Ethernet cables. To facilitate the connection of
all devices, the use of a network switch or hub may be necessary.

In conclusion, we propose that IPLAY Internet Cafe upgrade its desktop

systems, evaluate its internet service provider, and improve its seating space and

atmosphere. The café may remain competitive by providing modern technology

and engaging consumers by applying these steps. higher foot traffic and income

will result from higher customer satisfaction. Furthermore, quicker and more

dependable internet connectivity would boost operational efficiency and customer

satisfaction. Also there will be no need to transition from new to modern devices

as we will replace everything all at once. Overall, these recommendations will

help IPLAY Internet Cafe in establishing itself as a significant facility and driving

commercial growth.
