The LL.M. Program in International Legal Studies (ILSP) offers one of the largest international law curricula
in the United States (U.S.), with over 100 specialized courses in various areas of international law. A very
flexible degree program, the ILSP allows students to elect any classes, and design an individual curriculum
that tailors to their interests and career goals. The program also offers optional specializations along with
the LL.M. degree. International students may also take certain U.S. law courses required to qualify for the
New York bar exam. Our curriculum features experiential learning opportunities, including externships with
international organizations, government agencies, law firms, and local think tanks in Washington D.C.
With ILSP, students become part of a vibrant intellectual environment, interacting with AUWCL’s 100+ full-
time and adjunct faculty teaching international law. Our faculty members are world renowned and have long-
standing ties to potential employers in the U.S. and abroad. ILSP has great reputation for its global reach, with
students from 50+ countries and 4000+ alumni from around the world.

NEW YORK BAR TRACK
This LL.M. program provides foreign-educated law students with the courses required to qualify to
sit for the New York bar exam. Foreign-trained LL.M. students must complete at least 12 credits of
New York bar courses of the 24 credits needed for the LL.M. degree.
