The Legend of Plintheng Semar Plintheng Semar legend came from the story Semar
or also known as Ki Brodronoyo. Semar is a God who has 3 children (Punakawans)
representing a commoner though they have magical powers like gods. The foursome
are the courtiers of the Pandawa. Once upon a time, they followed the Pandawas
who wanted to meditate in Grojogan Sewu Karanganyar. There were so many
demons and giant interfering the meditation of the Pandawas. Semar, along with
Punakawans, continuously repelled all disturbing creatures. Suddenly, a powerful
giant came to disturb and ate the Pandawa. The giant could not be handled by
Punakawan, so that Semar should take over to face it. The fight was so powerful that
each of them release their supernatural powers. The giant could not be hurt by any
Semar’s weapon. Seeing the giant was not hurt one bit, Semar became angry
because no spell that could be expelled. The giant laughed and turned to expel his
supernatural powers. Semar was cornered. Then, he duplicated himself to trick the
Giant. The giant fought the Semar’s shadow, while the original one went to meditate
asking guidance from Sang Hyang Widhi. He asked some directions to beat the
giant. After some time meditating, he finally got a clue how to beat it. He was given a
huge slingshot bullet. He understood the clue given by Sang Hyang Widhi, and
immediately made a slingshot to be used to beat the giant. After that, the slingshot
was immediately brought to the battlefield. Without wasting time, Semar pointed the
slingshot right into the giant’s ass. The bullet soon dashed and hit the giant’s ass. The
giant screamed in pain and fell down. However, because the efficacy of the Giant
Way, the bullet bounced up far to the south and fell under a tamarind tree. The giant
