PROJECT SUMMARY

Name of the Business

A business similar to meatballs offers ground pork combined with vegetables,

called Vettyballs. To generate the name of the product, the researchers used the terms

"ve" from vegetables, "ty" from meaty, and "balls" due to its spherical shape. The

researchers came up with the idea of "Vettyballs" because of its unique approach to

consumers, which also gives an idea of what the researchers desire to promote. On

top of that, it is also intended to convey the message the researchers want to spread

about how it will both improve everyone's health and satisfy their cravings as well.

Figure 1
Vettyballs’ Logo

Logo Description

The logo of Vettyballs contains a clipart image of the product in the middle,

showing what our business sells. Because the researcher also used parsley in their

product, they decided to add some clipart images of parsley on both sides. Inside the

balls are colored dots that represent the colors of each vegetables that were used in

the product. To identify the vegetable inside each ball, the researchers added a small

flag with a distinctive color to each one. Orange is for carrots, yellow is for squash,

light brown is for potatoes, and violet is for eggplant.

The name of our business, Vettyballs, appears in the upper portion of the logo; it

is meatballs mixed with vegetables that are coated with bread crumbs, which are all

good for our health. To make it catchier, the business’ tagline, "All in one ball" is

located at the bottom part of the logo. The researchers devised a tagline that asserts

the nutritious qualities of vegetables and the delectability of meat can be purchased in

a single ball, allowing consumers to enjoy and be satisfied by its taste. The colors

found in the logo were chosen to complement the color of the product's image and to

represent that our logo is good and healthy.

Brief Description of the Business

Vettyballs is a merchandising business. This business offers ground pork mixed

with vegetables that has cheese inside to make it more flavorful. Every customer can

choose what vegetable they want in their order, whether it is carrots, potatoes,

squash, or eggplant. Furthermore, the researchers considered improving its

appearance and texture by using breadcrumbs, which act as top coat. In addition, the

researchers added five (5) sauces including barbecue, cheese, creamy white sauce,

creamy garlic sauce and sweet chili sauce to make the product tastier and appealing to

everyone.

Every time someone orders it, the product is in a paper bowl container with a mini

fork. Through this, the customers can take it wherever they want and eat it whenever

they want. Moreover, Vettyballs are something that everyone can have whenever they

are craving for meat with the thought of balancing their calorie intake. Also, it can

be one of the comfort foods for everyone who seems to have a bad day.

Location of the Business

The researchers came up with the idea of building a stall located at Central Plaza in

Brgy. Poblacion, Candelaria, Quezon.

Mode of Financing

The initial capital needed to launch this business will come from the owners’

personal savings. Since Vettyballs is a small business, a loan application is not

necessary.

Vettyballs is a partnership-type of business that have six (6) owners who will

individually contribute PHP 15,000. The owners' total investment would amount to

PHP 90,000, which would be used as the business's starting capital.

Major Assumptions

a. Market Feasibility

This study discuses facts related on how the product will be feasible to the market

considering the factors that might affect the business such as its competitors,

customers, price and the quality of the product.

The different strategies to advertise their business that the researchers will consider

are also included to establish their market. One of these strategies are distributing

flyers, hanging banners, having staff’s uniforms and being active on all social media

platform.

b. Management Feasibility

The proposed project's organizational structure includes six individuals

collaborating to form a partnership with a goal to share their resources and make the

project practical.

Sharing in the business's profit and loss is another provision of the partnership ag

reement. The supervisory and managerial roles are going to be filled by the six (6)

owners. Aside from a hired employee, the business owners will also be working

there as a cook while keeping the place clean at all times.

c. Financial Feasibility

Assessing a business idea's financial viability helps determine which

investments to make and whether the idea is even feasible. The owners would invest a

total of PHP 90,000, which would be utilized as the company's initial capital. The

initial investors will use their personal savings to cover the startup costs for this

enterprise.

d. Socio-Economic Feasibility

The socio-economic viability is concentrated on the advantages of having a

wholesome street food in Candelaria, Quezon. The business is most still taken into

consideration. This aspect discusses the responsibility and relationship of the

business in sufficient detail; this aspect will determine whether the proposed project

will be pleasing to the public.

INTRODUCTION

Brief Background of the Study

According to Backpacker Southeast Asia (2020), meatball or also known as

"bola bola," is one of the best Filipino street food & snacks, it is a mixture of meat

and other seasonings formed into a ball. Furthermore, this well-known, time-

honored delicacy had its beginnings in ancient Persia, when it was known as

meatballs. Since it was easy to make and cook, it spread around the world,

especially to the Philippines, where it was known as "Bola-bola."

As said by Katy Salter (2013), it seems that everyone, everywhere, loves

meatballs. However, some of these people are unaware that the high fat content is

unhealthy and could lead to a variety of health problems. The USDA (2019)

estimates that a 3-ounce serving of meatballs has 243 calories and 18.9 grams of

fat, or 30% of the calories in meatballs. Overall, 6.5 grams of that amount contain

saturated fat, which can raise your risk of heart disease, as claimed by the Mayo

Clinic in 2021. The owner considered creating a much tastier and healthier version

of meatballs that would satisfy customers without compromising their health or

diet.

Furthermore, around 4 million Filipino children under the age of five have

stunted growth, and 3.6 million of them are underweight, according to UNICEF

(2019). Moreover, World Health Organization or WHO (2018), states that

malnutrition is mostly caused by insufficient nutrient intake. That inspired the

owner to push through, to address that need; it was created to be helpful on living or

even maintaining a healthy diet.

Vision, Mission, and Goals

Vision

In 2030, Vettyballs will be known as the most well-liked, high quality, and

healthy meat dish in Candelaria, Quezon.

Mission

Vettyball's mission to help people make better eating decisions by having the

access to a high-quality, beneficial, and enjoyable snack. It has a fantastic flavor that

the clients will certainly enjoy in every single piece.

Goals

Vettyballs will be known locally not only for providing nutrients but also for

encouraging people to eat healthier dishes. The business aims to satisfy people’s

cravings by serving them high-quality, remarkable, and distinctive products. It will

also be renowned for its refined retail design, immaculate merchandise, and

courteous staff. The product anticipates that its monthly sales will rise as it adapts to

market conditions and trends.

Objectives of the Study

The study's proposed objective is to determine whether the product

"Vettyballs" is feasible to the market, to predict the success or failure of the

company. If it has a lot of demand and then t will be profitable to propose. It will

highlight the advantages for the business’ workers. This analysis will show

whether or not the company may obtain funding. It will introduce that the product

to public that are affordable and that can support a healthy body.

Operational Definition of Terms

The researchers provide a list of unfamiliar words that will be used as a

guide while creating the product. These are the unfamiliar words:

Bowls is a round container that has tall, curving sides that will be used to combine

all the ingredients to make the product.

Crushing is the process of pressing, grinding, or pounding of the vegetables into

smaller particles before mixing it with the ground pork.

QUEZON, PHILIPPINES
Deep fryer is an electric device that will be used to fry the product by heating the

oil it is submerged in.

Ground pork is one of the main ingredients that will be mixed with the

vegetables to create the product. It usually contains about 15 percent fat.

Malnourished a person who has poor health. It is the individuals that inspired the

owner on creating the product.

Meatballs is the inspiration of the product, also known as “bola-bola” which is a

type of street food that is a ball chopped meat.

Molding is the process of shaping the product into round balls for easy frying.

Sanitation is the action or process of sanitizing that the researchers do while

creating and selling the product in order to promote hygiene and avoid diseases.

Vegetables is a raw fresh food which is combined with the ground pork. It is

the highlight of the product.

Vettyballs is the name of the business. It is a combination of the words vegetables

and meaty.

RESEARCH METHODS

Research Design

This feasibility research will utilize the descriptive-survey research design.

The survey descriptive research approach, as described by SurveyPlanet (2022),

involves the creation of questionnaires or polls, which are then distributed to

respondents. The Formplus Blog (2022) states that descriptive survey research

seeks to compile information on a variety of topics. This information seeks to

determine the degree to which certain conditions can be found among these

subjects. The researchers chose this design because the current study will identify

the parameters of the proposed product, such as the demographic characteristics of

the target customers and their perceptions and preferences regarding the product.

INNOVATION VETTYBALLS:
QUALITY A Feasibility Study of Meatballs mixed with
EXCELLENCE Vegetables
MANUEL S. ENVERGA UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION-CANDELARIA, INC. Page | 19
QUEZON, PHILIPPINES
Research Locale

The study will take place at Candelaria, Quezon. The sum of target clients,

including students, passers-by, drivers, shoppers, and other people, makes the

location a wise choice. Additionally, it is simple and convenient for customers to

enter the location of selection. The location was chosen by the researchers because

it would provide them with the information they need to improve their product.

Research Respondents

The respondents to the survey will be potential customers of Vettyballs.

Possible respondents will be composed of the people who passes by the area. The

researchers chose the participants based on the landmarks located near the location

of the proposed business.

Sampling Technique

According to Derek Jansen, purposeful sampling entails the researcher

choosing participants based on their own discretion and the objectives of the

study. As the name implies, individuals are chosen using this method based on their

accessibility or availability. In other words, rather than choosing the sample based

on a clear and objective method, the researcher chooses the sample depending on

how easy it is for them to acquire it. Convenience sampling, which chooses its

sample based on those who are easily accessible or eager to participate, naturally

offers a quick and simple option to collect data. As a result, it is a desirable choice

if you are very short on money or time. This method of research is dependent on the

accessibility of the subjects. Because the researcher may contact the subjects with

INNOVATION VETTYBALLS:
QUALITY A Feasibility Study of Meatballs mixed with
EXCELLENCE Vegetables

QUEZON, PHILIPPINES
ease, it is commonly referred to as "convenience sampling. The sample components

are only chosen by researchers with almost no authority, and they are chosen

entirely on the basis of proximity rather than representativeness. When gathering

feedback is time- and money-constrained, this non-probability sampling technique

is used.

Forecasting Tools

a. DEMAND

Due to demand, Vettyballs will be able to determine what potential customers

want from the products they wish to consume. The owners will base their choice in

this section on the number of people who will be required for each aspect to take

into account for the business in order to determine demand.

b. SUPPLY

As the researchers explore the area, the supply will be the total amount of the

potential product that the business will be able to produce. The street food sellers,

who operate without a permanent location, will be the company's competitors.

Supply will guarantee that buyers may get the greatest price possible.

c. SUPPLY AND DEMANDS ANALYSIS GAP

The costs and availability of goods and services in a given market will be

determined by supply and demand analysis. This will serve the gap from the supply

of a good or service to the demand for those things.

d. PROJECTED DEMAND AND SUPPLY

INNOVATION VETTYBALLS:
QUALITY A Feasibility Study of Meatballs mixed with
EXCELLENCE Vegetables
MANUEL S. ENVERGA UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION-CANDELARIA, INC. Page | 21
QUEZON, PHILIPPINES
The population estimates that can be forecasted to produce the product are

shown by the projected demand and supply. This demonstrates the modifications in

demand projection that will impact the anticipated supply in the future.

e. MARKET SHARES

The market share will show the percentage of the total sales in industry as per

as to the company sales. The vettyballs translates into better sales, less work needed

to sell more, and a strong barrier to entry for other competitors. The business will

measure the customers' or businesses' preference for one product over other similar

items.

f. PRICING STRATEGY

The business's method for making prices will be determined by its pricing

strategy. Having the price set to optimize profits and shareholder value, this strategy

will help the owners in selecting an appropriate price for consumers.

g. PROMOTION

• Using the questionnaires that the researchers has been created the

promotion will have the processes that can help the business. It will start into

the perception, interest, demand and lastly the action.

FINANCIAL RATIOS

Financial ratios show the comparison of two or more financial data points. The

business will use these formulas to have a fair comparison.

Research Instrument

The researcher's initial preference for gathering feedback on a product is

through survey questionnaires, partly because they are the least expensive and

easiest method. Everyone values their time so the researcher decided for this

method above others in order to collect information from respondents quickly.

The survey questions were produced by the researchers to get feedback for the

product's enhancement and to learn more about what the consumers would want.

It aims to help the study to reach its satisfaction because it act as a comment

thread for open communication.

In the initial part of the survey questionnaires is the description of the product

and the purpose of the survey. Informed consent is also included along with some

demographic questions such as age and type of employment. The primary

questionnaires includes eight (8) questions which the respondents will shade the

circle around with their response to assist the researchers in enhancing their

product in accordance with consumer preferences. The last part of the survey

questionnaire is where respondents are allowed to share their thoughts,

suggestions and recommendations.

Data Gathering Procedure

Prior to conducting the survey, the researchers created a list of twenty (20)

questions, which they carefully assessed and then sorted into eight (8) questions. It

was then appropriately organized in order before being printed and prepared for the

survey.

INNOVATION VETTYBALLS:
QUALITY A Feasibility Study of Meatballs mixed with
EXCELLENCE Vegetables
MANUEL S. ENVERGA UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION-CANDELARIA, INC. Page | 23
QUEZON, PHILIPPINES
As they were conducting the survey, the researchers approached the respondent

and asked if they are available enough to answer the survey questionnaires. The

same questionnaires were distributed to all of the respondents who passes by, and

they had plenty of time to concentrate and thoroughly review their answers. The

researcher gathered all of the papers after they had been completed.

After doing the survey and gathering the data, the researchers then moved on to

data analysis and computation. The outcomes are then provided.

PRESENTATION OF RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Market Study

Objectives of the Study

The researchers want to start understanding the Vettyballs' potential for

commercial success and how to effectively manage them in the marketplace. This

study will assist the industry in promoting the consumption of more veggies when

combined with pork.

Industry Analysis

The streetfood industry is very competitive, but Vettyballs assures that they can

compete with earlier firms. The table below displays an examination of Vettyballs

According to the Economic Times, supply is important since it ensures that

there are enough items created to keep up with consumer demand. It benefits the

business to make sure that a specific proportion of the products it produces are sold

on the market at various price points to satisfy customer demand. In addition, this

study also helps the business determine future demand, which can help the

proprietors make decisions about the business.

According to the study, 150 respondents—99.33%—want to purchase the

company's goods. It guarantees that many clients will buy from the company.

Although rivals like Takorap and Takoyen have a good relationship with consumers,

they also have a significant competitive edge over their rivals since people are

familiar with their brands, in addition to the quality of their products. Street food

vendors also have an advantage over customers because it is widely available and

reasonably priced. Whatever the case, Vettyballs has a strong chance of being a

marketable and prosperous business due to its convenient location, nutritional

ingredients, and reasonable price.

The fundamental principles of supply and demand in economics provide an

explanation for the relationship between the availability of a product and the desire for

a specific item. Demand quantifies the quantity of the product of the business that

consumers are willing to pay for, whereas supply quantifies the quantity of the same

product that is actually on the market. By comprehending the supply and demand in the

industry, the owners can decide if the amount produced is enough to match the demand.

Divide: Total Projected 474,348.4

Market Share = 474,348 x 100%

27,106.8

Considering it is expected that if the demand increases over the following

five years, the supply would undoubtedly be impacted as well, it is possible to

observe that there has been a shift and that there is an excessive or unsatisfied

demand in the hypothetical data shown above. As a result, the expected supply for

the same period is 447,241.6, the estimated demand for the following five years is

474,348.4 and the ratio of demand to supply is 27,106.8.

As the supplier's sales decrease and the estimated product's demand rises, the

projected market shares of 17.5% are expected to rise even more. The supplier's

increased sales are responsible for a reduction in market share because it will result

in less demand for other people's products.

Price Study

Cost-plus pricing is used to determine the price of Vettyballs. Vettyballs are

produced for a cost of PHP 6.87 per unit. The cost to produce the packages A, which

contains four (4) pieces, is PHP 27.48 per container; package B, which contains eight

(8) pieces, is PHP 54.96 per container; and package C, which contains twelve (12)

pieces, is PHP 82.44 each container. Packages A, B, and C of Vettyballs are sold per

container for PHP 35.00, PHP 65.00, and PHP 95.00, respectively. Although

Vettyballs provides dependable, useable raw materials as well as nutritious nutrients,

researchers have also taken their responses into account when establishing the

pricing. Additionally, the researchers noted that the pricing strategy is reasonable

priced due to its pricing being comparable to that of its rivals.

The business's SWOT analysis is used to determine its strengths, weaknesses,

opportunities, and threats. This analysis assists the business in understanding all the

factors influencing decision-making.

Terms of Sale

Given the fact that Vettyballs is a go-to-snack where anyone can eat wherever

they want, the owners accept cash as well as online payments using Gcash and PayPal

to make it easier for the customers.

Channel Distribution

Due to the fact that Vettyballs sells its products directly to customers, the

business uses a direct distribution channel.

Transportation arrangement

The researchers will be using the tricycle as their method of commuting when

buying all of the raw materials that will be using and needing. The rates typically

start at ₱20.00 per person and go up as the distance gets longer. The researchers will

purchase raw materials in the wet market and given that it's close to where the

business is located, the rates will be at the normal rates which is ₱20.00. Given that

the it is a round trip, the overall cost will be ₱40.00.

Promotion and advertising activities

Advertising is the most popular way for a business to be instantly recognizable

by the public. The researcher will create a page in Facebook as well as different

social media platform like twitter and Instagram. Furthermore, the researchers will

also distribute flyers.

The product is served in its packaging, which is a white plastic container with

the Vettyballs logo on it. It contains a small plastic cup where the sauces will be

placed. Depending on how many sauces the customer orders, a certain number of tiny

plastic cups will be provided. Additionally, there’s also a mini fork provided for the

customers. Following that, the product will be packaged in a brown paper bag

altogether.

Marketing Staff

The marketing staff will organize and supply the resources required for the

company. They are the ones who will be performing in order to represent the

company. The employees will also manage internet marketing campaigns using

various social media platforms to entice customers to acquire the product. They will

be the ones to conduct market research on their target group. The team will create

engaging material to inspire customers.

Estimated cost of marketing

An estimated cost is a rough projection of future expenses involved in the

creation of goods or the completion of a project. Estimating an estimated cost aids in

project management and capital budgeting by providing insight into long-term costs,

feasibility, returns, and risk.

We computed the overall weight of our materials. The final sum will be

determined by the transportation and handling of the commodities. Then we'll get the

10%, and then we'll get the total amount of the estimated cost of marketing, and then

deducted to get the projected cost of our item. Using that technique, we could also

easily determine the equipment's expected cost.

Technical Study

Product Technical Description

The Vettyballs will make nutritious food that is convenient to eat or use as a go-

to snack. The ground pork and the vegetables were chosen as the core ingredients.

The product will have a variety of flavors, including carrot, eggplant, squash, and

potato. It has a weight of 56.66 grams and 45.33 calories. Any flavor of Vettyballs

that a customer purchases will contain vitamins, including vitamin B (niacin and B6)

for carrots, vitamin A, folate, magnesium, fiber, riboflavin, phosphorus, copper,

fiber, folic acid, and potassium for squash, as well as vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin

B6, thiamine, niacin, magnesium, manganese, and vitamin E for eggplant. The potato

is also high in vitamin C. As we serve the product, several sauces are included to

completely complement the product and satisfy customer preferences. The news

concerning the malnourished people and the lack of vegetable consumption inspired

the researchers to develop their invention. The product will aid farmers in promoting

their wares. The Vettyballs will encourage customers to eat more vegetables, which

will lessen the effects of malnutrition.

Wash all the ingredients. The ingredients must be cleaned and sanitized before
using it.

Boil the potato, squash and eggplant while grating the carrots.Grate the carrots.
Mashed the potato, squash and eggplant in different bowls and set aside. Prepare
the mixing bowl and condiments for vettyballs. Mince the onion and garlic

Put the ground pork inside the mixing bowl. After putting the ground pork, put the salt, pepper, parsley and
egg. Mix it with spatula or with hand, then taste it(add some condiments if the taste is inadequate). Prepare
four different bowls and put the vegetables in each of the bowls together with the exact amount of ground pork
then mix.

On the other hand, prepare one (1) bowl and three (3) plates.Beat the eggs in ine bowl. Put the cornstach, flur
and bread crumbs in different plates. Prepare the frying pan and put the oil and wait for the right temperature
to fry the vettyballs. While waiting for the oil to heat, get a small spoon to measure the right amount for the
vettyballs.

Make a round shape and put it in order (cornstarch, egg, flour, breadcrumbs) then put it in a clean
plate. After making the Vettyballs, check the temperature of the oil then fry. Prepare a strainer to
lessen the oil in vettyballs after frying it, while resting the vettyballs. Prepare the container and put
the vettyballs together with their chosen sauce. Put some garnish and serve.

Management Study

Nature of the Business

Six people wanting to form a partnership will operate the Vettyballs. They will

collaborate and contribute equally to the development and growth of the firm.

Vettyballs is a manufacturing company that sells its product at a low cost. It provides

an innovative product, specifically in terms of flavor, that will satisfy people's

cravings, and it is also a food that can assist industry in increasing the supply of

nutrient-dense diets, particularly for undernourished children. The owners can

borrow money and pay it back after the business is established; they can also

contribute with their own money because the money will not be issued in large

amounts due to the fact that only six people will release money. To be able to

manage the firm, the proprietors must be educated, responsible, and have a strong

mindset. Vettyballs' ease of formation is not so much a burden as it is easy to

comprehend. However, there are some vital certificates that the company will

require. Vettyballs is a small business, particularly a stall business, with little

documentation to complete in order to get started. In terms of taxes, partnerships are

regarded as a pass-through entity. A partnership is similar to an expanded sole

proprietorship in many ways, but with the benefits and drawbacks that come with

having a partner. A partner may contribute knowledge, abilities, and money to the

company. They may have a good impact on the company, but they may also have a

negative one. Whoever you do business with should make you feel at ease.

Government interference in the economy can take many different forms, including

taxes, subsidies, price controls, regulations, minimum wage laws, and bailouts. The

government may step in to break up a monopoly, stimulate a faltering economy, or

alleviate hardship. The systematic method of characterizing a corporation is also

referred to as the nature of business. The type of business is indicated by this

concept. Additionally, it outlines the services it offers. Additionally, a company's

focus is described by the nature of its business. It explains where the company's

products or services are primarily focused. This also includes everything a business

undertakes to accomplish its goals. As it is frequently difficult for them to obtain the

necessary funding to launch the business, external sources of finance are quite

beneficial for business owners. One can only invest a certain quantity of assets in

their own company. It is simple for business owners to have the initial capital to

create a start-up or receive more money to expand thanks to external sources of

finance. It's crucial to keep in mind that external funding sources are typically more

expensive than internal ones.

In the business Vettyballs, the six (6) business owners will also be the cooks.

Every owner will work as a cook every day at the business stall considering the fact

that it is open for six days a week. In order to handle payments at Vettyballs, the

company will require one employee.

Financial Study

The comprehension of financial studies is covered in this chapter. It displays the

Vettyballs costs when the company begins to operate. It examines the predicted cost,

ongoing cost, cash flows, and projected cost over the following five years for the

company. The precise costs of the supplies and other expenses needed for the

proposed business are provided in this chapter. The goal of this chapter is to

determine how much money will be required and the expenses that the business will

face over the next few years to successfully run the business.
