Correct Translation of 2-9
Correct Translation of 2-9
"آمنُوا َوَما ََيْ َد ُعو َن إِالَّ أَن ُف َس ُهم َوَما يَ ْشعُ ُرو َن ِ َّ اد ُعو َن ه
ِ َ( " َُي2:9)
َ ين
َ اّللَ َوالذ
ِ َ"َي
The above verse 2:9 begins with the phrase "اد ُعو َن ُ (yukhadiouna) which
is a plural of the performers of the action of the verb "ع ُ "َيْ ِد
ُ (yukhdio) and
taken to mean bluffers, cheaters, deceivers (with vain hopes), betrayers,
swindlers, allurers, dazzlers, enticers, inveiglers, pullers of someone's
leg, blandishers, injurers, inveiglers, making fool, playing game,
defrauders, deluders, double-crossers, misleading, outwitting, playing
trick on, luring, aggrieving, treating unjustly, inequitably or wheedling. In
Arabic language the word "ع ِ is a synonym of Arabic word ""غش
ُ "خد
ِ
(ghash) which we have studied in the verse 2:7 in the form of noun ""غ َش َاوة
(ghishawa) to mean deception, falsification, dodge, fraud, treachery and
betrayal etc.
ِ َ"َي
Hence, "ادعُو َن ُ (yukhadiouna) are those who betray, deceive, falsify,
dodge, cheat, outwit, make trick and bluff whereas, "َ"اّلل هis Arabic title of
God. So, "َاّلل ِ َ"َي
اد ُعو َن ه ُ (yukhadiounAllah) are those ‘who deceive God’,
’who betray God’, ‘who bluff God’, ‘who cheat God’. The next phrase
"ين ِ َّ (wallazeena) is a combination of conjunction " "وto mean: and, and
َ "والذَ َ
also, as well as, and "ين ِ َّ
َ "الذis a subject pronoun to mean, which, that,
who etc.
The next phrase ""آمنُوا
َ (aamanou) is formed with ""آم ُن
َ and " "واin which
""آم ُن
َ (aaman) is a verbal noun as well as an adjective to mean ‘bound by
1
contract, oath or other formal agreement’, sticking; clinging, supporting,
following and adhering or an adherent substance, e.g. the world nations
adherent to the Geneva Convention etc. Whereas, "( "واou) is an
objective plural pronoun of the subject therefore translation of which
always changes according to the subject, i.e. if a second person plural
subject such as ‘You’ is coming in the beginning of the sentence the
article "( "واou) attached with verb, verbal noun or adjective is
automatically translated to mean “your”. In all other cases including third
person plural nouns and third person plural pronouns the same "( "واou)
is taken to mean “their”, “those”, “them” and “they” but in all cases ""وا
ِ َ"َي
(ou) refers back to the subject which is "اد ُعو َن ُ (yukhadiouna) in the
verse 2:9 "آمنُوا ِ َّ اد ُعو َن ه
ِ َ"َي
َ ين
َ اّللَ َوالذ ُ that we are studying. Therefore, "( "واou) of
""آمنُوا ِ ُ (yukhadioun)
َ (aamanou) actually goes back to the subject ""َيَاد ُعو َن
so ""آمنُوا
َ (aamanou) must be translated to mean “their adherents”, “their
attached”, “their supporters” and collectively “their adhering
supporters” instead of blindly translating ""آمنُوا
َ to mean ‘believers’ of
God or Allah’s believers. In fact, according to the grammar, in the verse
2:9, ""آمنُوا
َ are the believers, adherents and supporters of cheaters,
ِ َ"َي
deceivers, bluffers and falsifiers who are defined with the word "ادعُو َن ُ
(yukhadiouna). However, like other Arabic words, the phrase ""آمنُوا
َ
(aamanu) and the verbs, nouns and adjectives of "( "امنaman) are
generally used to mean taking oath, bounding by contract or other formal
agreement and securing, attaching adhering or clinging with something
or someone but in the translation of the whole Quran the phrase ""آمنُوا
َ
(aamanu) is blindly translated to mean “believers” or those who believe
in Allah. This is because they practice the evil way of “( ”تصريف آياتtasreef
aayat) to translate the Quran by taking the same meaning of Quranic
words all across the Quran; without looking at their context and their
grammatical formations. Hence, this is not necessary to take the word
""آمنُوا
َ (aamanu) everywhere to mean believers of Allah but according to
the context and the grammatical formation of all other words coming in
the same verse.
2
Again, the above discrepancy in all translations of Quranic verse 2:9
proves the ignorance and lack of knowledge of our scholars and their
disciples who falsely translate and teach the Quran.
The combination of conjunction ""و
َ (wao) and negating article ""ما
َ (ma) is
coming next, in the form of ""وَما
َ (wama) in which conjunction ""و
َ (wao)
means “and” but when it comes in a verse more than once it also
emphasises the clause of speech in the beginning of which it comes
which can be translated to mean ‘and’, ‘and also’, ‘as well as’,
‘additionally’ plus the necessary articles such as ‘do’ or ‘too’ etc. may
also come in the translation. Whereas, the article ""ما
َ (ma) coming with
conjunction ""و
َ (wao) is a negating article to mean ‘not’. The next word
""َيْ َدعُو َن
َ (yakhdiouna) is a passive voice phrase in which the subject
ِ َ"َي
"اد ُعو َن ُ (yukhadiouna) receives the action of the verb "( " ََيْ َدعyakhda) to
mean ‘who are deceived’, ‘who are betrayed; ‘who are cheated’ and
‘who are dodged’. If subject performs the action of the verb the phrase is
called active voice when a subject receives the action of the verb the
phrase is called passive voice. Hence, in the verse 2:9 the active voice
ِ َ"َي
phrase "ادعُو َن ُ (yukhadiouna) is the subject which performs the action of
the verb "عُ "َيَ ِد
ُ (yukhdio) whereas ""َيْ َد ُعو َن
َ (yakhdiouna) is a passive voice
phrase which receives the action of the verb ""َيْ َدع
َ (yakhda). Since, "ُادع ِ َ"َي
ُ
(yukhadio) is already an active participle or doer of the action which is
made by adding letter alif in the middle of the letters of the verb "ع ُ "َيَ ِد
ُ
ِ َ"َي
(yukhdio) so that no one can make any mistake in taking "اد ُعو َن ُ
(yukhadiouna) as a plural subject, performer and doer of the action of
ُ "َيَ ِد
the verb "ع ُ (yukhdio). The forthcoming article of the versa 2:9 is "َّ"إِال
(illa) to mean ‘except’ or ‘other than’ and the phrase "("أَن ُف َس ُهمanfusahum)
is a compound of "س
َ ( "أَن ُفanfusa) and ""هم
ُ (hum) in which "س
َ ( "أَن ُفanfusa) is
the most valuable thing of a person, someone’s life or soul and ""هم
ُ
(hum) is a third person plural objective pronoun to mean ‘their’. Again,
the typical combination of conjunction and negating article ""وَما
َ (wama) is
coming to mean ‘and not’. The last phrase of verse 2:9 is ""يَ ْشعُ ُرو َن
(yashouroon) which refers to those who are the recipients of the action
of the verb " "يَ ْش ُع ُرcorrectly means ‘take to heart’, to take notice, to feel
3
and to realise etc. In fact, "( "يَ ْشعُ ُرو َنyashouroon) are those who are
needled, something goes straight in their hearts, something penetrates
in their mind to feel, something pricks them to realize, something impale
them to notice, something spike them to take heed.
While the verb "( "يَ ْش ُع ُرyasharo) is derived from the Arabic root word ""شعر
(SHÁR), the true meaning of which are omitted from almost all Arabic
dictionaries since the pagans distorted in the translation the Quranic
phrase "َاّلل
( "شعائر هshaáir Allah) to mean "symbols of Allah" (2:158, 22:32
& 22:36) and "rites of Allah" (5:2) so that they can carry on doing the
pagan rituals at Kaaba and conducting pagan worship on Safa and
Marwa where their idols Assaf and Nyla were installed in Masjid Al
Haram. However, " "يَ ْش ُع ُرactually refers to have an intense feeling that
comes after touching the thorns or any barbed or sharp needling object
which provokes and gives an unforgettable realisation.
"Who deceive God and who are their adhering supporters and not do
they deceive other than their own souls and not do they realize".
