Above: Cradle-LockAnti- Vibration Stakes are installed

mid-way between support plates in each tube row of the
tops and sides of tube bundles - the areas most susceptible
to tube vibration. The entire bundle may also be staked.

Left: Tubes are "cradled" by indentations at front and

back of each Cradle-Lock stake. As each row is staked,
previous rows are locked into place - without wires, bolts,
or other fasteners.

Cradle-L6Ck,· Anti- Vibration Stakes feature an advanced, patented design that overcomes
the installation and operational disadvantages of conventional stakes.

When installed, the springing action of the "V" shape, coupled with the indentations, locks the
stakes and tubes into a single vibration-free unit. Contact area between the stake and each
tube is increased by a factor of hundreds (conventional stakes offer only one point of contact,
while Cradle-Lock stakes cradle the tube over the surface are of each indentation.) The
stakes do not shift over long periods of full capacity operation, as conventional stakes tend to
do, thereby reducing maintenance costs.

Cradle-L6Ck,· Anti-Vibration Stakes are custom-manufactured to the condenser's tube size

and spacing with specific pre-load and indentation sizes.

\ Vibration Stakes.

The Atlantic Group is Arnerica's largest condenser retubing contractor. We bring to the jobsite specialized
tooling and equiprnent (in many cases, built or modified to our exacting specifications), experienced project
management, supervisors, and technicians, and the experience of more than 68,000,000 linear feet of retubing.
Additional condenser services include tube cleaning, tube plugs, mass spectrometry leak detection, full service
condenser expansion joint replacement, and Cradle-Lock" Anti-Vibration Stakes.

Cradle-Lock" Stakes are stamped from stainless steel in a "V" shape, with dimples at tube locations. When
installed, the spring action of the "V," coupled with the dimples, locks the stakes and the tubes into a single
vibration-free unit. Contact area between the stake and each tube is increased by hundreds of times
(conventional stakes offer only point of contact--ours "cradles" the tube throughout the surface area of each
indentation). The stakes do not shift over long periods of fuIl capacity operation, as conventional stakes do,
thereby reducing maintenance.

Cradle-Lock" Stakes are custom-engineered and manufactured to the individual unit's characteristics (such as
tube size, spacing, and pitch), Each configuration is tested in a 3-bay mockup, duplicating the proposed
installation's support plate spacing, tube materiaIs, and hole pattern, prior to manufacture. This ensures that
the stakes will eliminate existing or potential vibration problems.

Cradle-Lock" Stakes have now become the industry standard in the United States, with more than 238,000
installed in condensers and heat exchangers of all sizes. They have been issued two U.S. Patents, and foreign
patents are pending.
