Special Recruitment Drive for SC and ST Diploma Engineers

NTPC Limited is India's largest integrated power company with an installed capacity of 72,364 MW and
has presence in the entire value chain of the power generation business. NTPC has embarked upon an

NTPC is launching Special Recruitment Drive for SC and ST candidates as per details given below for its
North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project.

TRAINING, EMOLUMENTS AND PLACEMENT:

Selected Candidate will undergo training for a period 02 years at any NTPC sites/stations and will be paid a
consolidated stipend of Rs. 24,000/- per month. On successful completion of training, these candidates will
be absorbed in the open pay scale of Rs. 24000-3%- (W7 Grade). The final place of posting will be allocated
after successful completion of the training.

AGE LIMIT:

Upper Age limit is 30 years as on last date of application.

QUALIFICATION:
Discipline Qualification
Mechanical Full time regular Diploma in Mechanical /Production Engineering with
pass marks
C&I Full time regular Diploma in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering
with pass marks
Note: Eligible candidates, who have Full time regular Diploma passed certificate as on the date of
application will only be eligible to apply.

Selection Process:
Eligible candidates will have to undergo 2 stages of Online Test (Computer Based Test).

1st stage online: In 1st stage Aptitude Test (120 multiple choice questions) covering General English,
Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning will be conducted. The duration of the test will be 02 hours. Each
questions carries 1 mark, and 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer. The candidate will be
shortlisted @ 1:10 for 2nd Stage Online Test (Technical). 1st Stage is only qualifying in nature.
2nd stage online test: In 2nd stage, Online Technical Test (120 multiple choice questions) in respective
discipline will be conducted. The duration of the test will be 02 hours. Each question carries 1 mark, and
0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answer. Qualifying marks shall be 30%.

Offer of appointment to be issued based on merit.

2. Bhubaneswar(if required, based on the number of applicants).

Test centre details shall be intimated to candidates at the time of issuance of Admit Card. NTPC reserves
the right to cancel or add any center depending on the number of applicants/candidates.

Reservation and Relaxations:

01. Category once filled in the online application form will not be changed and no benefit of other
category will be admissible later on.
02. No registration fee is required.
03. The Upper age limit is relaxed by further 10 years for SC/ST -PwBD candidates.
04. Upper age is relaxed by 5 years for the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of
Jammu & Kashmir from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.
05. Age relaxation will be applicable for Ex-Servicemen as per Government Guidelines.

Service Agreement Bond:

The selected candidate will be required to executive a service agreement bond of Rs. 50,000/- plus GST (for
SC/ST candidates) to serve the company for a minimum period of 03 years after completion of training.

Health:
The candidate should have sound health. Before joining, candidates will have to undergo medical
examination by NTPC medical Board, and the decision of the board will be final and binding. Appointment
will be subject to meeting the medical norms prescribed by the company. No relaxation in medical norms is
allowed. Detailed medical norms are available on the application portal.

How to apply:
1. Eligible candidates have to apply through NTPC online portal. To apply visit careers.ntpc.co.in
with your valid e-mail ID. Application Portal will be functional from 10:00 am of 29.06.2023
to 11:59 pm of 13.07.2023.
2. All successfully enrolled candidates will be allowed to download the admit card from the
website. Please note that the admit card will not be sent by post.

General Information and Instructions:

1. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
2. Before applying, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfill the eligibility criteria and other
norms mentioned in this advertisement on the website i.e. careers.ntpc.co.in.
 3. All qualifications should be from Indian institutes recognized by Board of Technical Education
(BTE) / All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) appropriate statutory authority.
4. No manual/paper application will be entertained.
5. TA/DA will not be paid to any candidate appearing for the 1st stage and 2nd stage Online Test.
6. While applying for the post, the applicant should ensure that he /she fulfills the eligibility and
other norms mentioned above, as on the specified dates and that the particulars furnished are
correct in all respects. In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not
fulfill the eligibility norms and/ or that he /she has furnished any incorrect / false information or
has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature shall stand automatically cancelled. If any
of the above discrepancy/deviation(s) is/are detected even after appointment, his/her services are
liable to be terminated without any notice.
7. All the candidates are advised to keep active the E-mail used for filling the online
application. After filling the application no request for change of E-mail shall be entertained.
All communication in future shall be done on same E-mail address.
8. In case any ambiguity/dispute arises on account of interpretation in versions other than English,
the English Version will prevail.
9. Person already working in the Government/Public Sector Enterprises/Autonomous bodies shall
be required to produce “No Objection Certificate (NOC) before the second stage test i.e. Technical
Test. Please note without NOC, candidates shall not be permitted to appear in the stage two test.
10. Any proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and
/ or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in Jharkhand/Odisha and courts at
Jharkhand/Bhubaneswar/Cuttack only shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction to try any such
cause / dispute.
11. The SC/ST/XSM/PwBD candidates and candidates domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir
from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 are required to submit a valid requisite certificate in prescribed
format of Government of India, from a competent authority at the time second stage test.
