Activity 5. Consumer society

In my opinion, consumer goods do improve people's quality of life, but people can
end up consuming in excess, which can be bad for the environment, you should
buy enough goods to live well, without Indulge in luxuries that are unnecessary
expenses.

Consumer goods are not difficult to find today, in supermarkets or self-service

stores to find more than enough to live comfortably, since they sell food, tools,
cleaning products, technological products, etc. There are even several similar
products and of different prices.

Luxury products are very common in our society, there are unnecessary products
with such high prices that even many people go into debt to have them, material
things such as very expensive cars, cell phones, clothes, very expensive
restaurants, products that are essential but can cost a lot if you don't choose well.
The success of luxury brands is because they focus their strategy on consumers,
who are not satisfied with a simple sale, but want to feel part of a world that not
everyone can access and that satisfies their demands.

Most consumer companies are not concerned about the environment, but about
selling as much as possible, some even affecting people's quality of life, because
pollution can damage the water, the air and even the garbage that found in the
streets, etc. But there are many companies that do care a little more about the
environment, using recyclable materials or using renewable energies, using less
materials, etc. In short, consumerism causes us to spend a large amount of natural
resources, overexploiting them, and then we dump more garbage into nature, so
this directly affects living beings in different places, causing a serious loss of
biodiversity.

Finally, I concluded that we could improve our lives by buying quality consumer
goods, varied, but without exceeding what we can consume or use, thus avoiding
unnecessary spending and helping the planet a little.
