Renovation and Re-consecration Project – 2022-23

Dear Blessed Devotees of Lord Vettakarappan!

In April 2022, during the eve of Vishu Vela, we got together to embark on a very challenging project – the
renovation and re-consecration of our beloved Vettakarappan Temple at Bemmanur, thought to be at least 400
years old. With the immense power of Lord Vettakarappan, the Temple had withstood the ravages of time; but
as they say, nothing lasts forever, and it was time for us, the current generation to intervene and rebuild the
Temple so that the Lord can continue to shower His Blessings on the Thattakam for current and future
generations.
As was quite expected, the Renovation Committee faced multiple challenges; unexpected, multiple changes to
scope of work, spiraling costs of everything from construction material, labour to re-consecration work, weather
and climate changes and logistics, to name a few. However, the all-encompassing Kiratha Moorthy gently
carried us through all the storms and against all odds, and together we have been able to successfully finish
the work we started – in approximately 13 months from start to finish, and at a budget (and related income) that
exceeded by three times what was originally envisaged!
And thus today, Lord Vettakarappan and his abode at Bemmanur has been restored to all His pomp and glory,
thanks to the selfless and awe-inspiring support from you. Words shall not suffice to express our heartfelt
gratitude during this journey and all we can do is to say – Thank you!
It has been our privilege to lead the Renovation and Re-consecration efforts on your behalf. We remain always
accountable to Him and you, and it is our pleasure to present the Revenue & Expenditure, detailed Donors List,
a few pictures of the Temple (before and after) and a day-by-day summary of the re-consecration process, that
we hope, will be a source of inspiration to our future generations and take our Temple from strength to strength
for centuries ahead.

ഭഗോബെ ശക്തിയാൽ, വേത്രം കാലത്തിബെ ബകടുതികബെ ബെറുത്തു വപാന്നു; പവേ, ഒന്നും
ശാശവതമായി എബെവെക്കം നിലനിൽക്കില്ലവല്ലാ. ഇവപ്പാഴബത്ത തലമുറയ്ക്കം ഭാേി
തലമുറയ്ക്കം വേണ്ടി തട്ടകത്തിൽ ഭഗോൻ തബെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ ബൊരിയെത് തുടരുോൻ
വേത്രം പുനർനിർമ്മിവക്കണ്ടത് അതയാേശയമായി ഭേിച്ചു.

ആരംഭിച്ച വജാലികൾ േിജയകരമായി പൂർത്തിയാക്കാൻ സഹായിച്ചു - തുടക്കം മുതൽ
അേസാനം േബര ഏകവേശം 13 മാസങ്ങൾക്കള്ളിൽ, കൂടാബത െജറ്റിൽ (അനുെന്ധ
േരുമാനവം) ആേയം േിഭാേനം ബെയ്തതിവനക്കാൾ മൂെിരട്ടിവയാട് കൂടി!
