Dear Ms. Arellano,

I am writing in response to your letters dated July 12, 2023, and July 15, 2023, expressing your
concerns about the alleged environmental violations by INGOT AND CASTING PHILS. INC. and
ONESKY ALUMINUM EXTRUSION CORP. I would like to assure you that the Municipality of
San Simon takes environmental issues seriously and has been diligently addressing the matter
since your initial communication.

As per the details provided in our letter dated June 6, 2023, the Joint Inspection Team (JIT) of
San Simon convened for a technical conference to thoroughly discuss the reported violations.
During the conference, it was decided that the JIT would await the findings and
recommendations of the Sangguniang Bayan, as they were responsible for conducting an
inquiry with the representatives of the establishments in question. Regrettably, up to this date,
we have not received any communication or report from the Sangguniang Bayan concerning the
inquiry. The delay in their response has been a cause for concern, as we are committed to
addressing environmental issues promptly and transparently.

Furthermore, to ensure the situation is thoroughly addressed, the Municipality of San Simon has
taken additional steps by formally requesting the Environmental Management Bureau Regional
Office III and DENR-PENRO for their involvement. A request dated June 2, 2023, was sent,
seeking their assistance and cooperation in investigating the alleged violations.

However, we share your frustration, as we have not received any communication or updates
from DENR-PENRO up to this day. On a more positive note, the Environmental Management
Bureau did conduct an inspection in response to our request. Nevertheless, we are yet to
receive a copy of their findings, which has caused delays in resolving the matter effectively.

Be assured that we are continuously following up with the involved agencies to expedite the
process and acquire the necessary information. We understand the importance of
environmental compliance and the impact it has on our community and ecosystem.

Once we receive the findings and recommendations from the Sangguniang Bayan, as well as
the reports from the Environmental Management Bureau, we will be in a better position to take
the appropriate actions required to address the alleged violations. Rest assured that we will
keep you informed of any progress or developments in this matter.
