Science, technology, and society, commonly abbreviated as STS, is an interdisciplinary field that
explores the relationships between scientific and technological advancements, and the cultural,
social, and political contexts in which they arise. STS scholars analyze how science and
technology impact society, and how societal values and beliefs shape scientific research and
technological innovation. The field covers a wide range of topics, from the development of new
technologies to the social and ethical implications of scientific research. By studying the complex
interactions between science, technology, and society, STS helps us better understand the role
of these powerful forces in shaping our world, and how we can use them to create a better
future for all. The problem or issues that focus of my article is all about the growing divide
between the people who has access to technology and who do not. The growing divide between
those who have access to technology and those who do not is a complex and multifaceted
problem that has significant implications for individuals, communities, and entire nations. They
have many possible program that can help to resolve this problem and as A Computer
Engineering student, I’ll be responsible for this problem and I want to Introduced the program
that I think could possibly help on this problem. Community outreach: Work with local
organizations to provide technology training and support to underserved communities. This
could involve teaching people how to use computers, setting up public computer labs, or
providing tech support for community centers and libraries. The impact of this idea can be far-
reaching, providing increased access to technology, improved digital literacy, bridging the digital
divide, and strengthening community connections. By leveraging these and other resources, a
community outreach program can provide the necessary resources and support to help
underserved communities gain access to technology and develop digital literacy skills. And this is
the success factors of the program that I choose is partnering with local organizations such as
community centers, libraries, schools, and non-profits can help you reach a larger audience and
ensure that your program is meeting the needs of the community. From the word barrier,
language barriers if the target community speaks a different language, it may be difficult to
communicate effectively and provide training materials that are easily understandable. To
address the possible barriers of this program initiative, I would suggest the following course of
actions. Identify the specific underserved communities in the area that need technology training
and support. This could involve conducting a needs assessment or working with local
organizations that serve these communities. Develop a comprehensive outreach plan that
includes reaching out to community leaders, organizations, and individuals to raise awareness of
the program and its benefits. Offer customized training programs that meet the specific needs
and learning styles of the target communities. This could involve partnering with local
organizations to deliver the training or offering training sessions at community centers or
libraries. Provide access to computers and other necessary technology for participants who do
not have their own devices. This could involve setting up public computer labs in community
centers or libraries. Ensure that the program is accessible and inclusive to all members of the
community, regardless of language, ability, or cultural background. This could involve offering
training materials in multiple languages, providing accommodations for individuals with
disabilities, and being sensitive to cultural norms and practices. And last, this institution can help
the program that I made. Local government: City and county governments may have programs
or initiatives aimed at increasing digital access and literacy in underserved communities. They
may also provide funding or resources to community organizations working on these issues.
