Andalusian typical costumes

ERASMUS SPAIN
FLAMENCO DRESS:
The flamenco dress is a typical
costume from Andalucía, it is
worn by women in traditional
parties in towns and cities for
example in the “romería” and
fair.

It is made of fabric and thread


and it can be different patterns
and colors. It usually has polka
dots.
SEGADORA COSTUME:
The segadora dress is a
typical costume of our town.
It is used in the floral
offering (a festival where
the people of Villa del Rio
bring flowers to the Virgin)
on September 8, which is the
day of the patron saint of
Villa del Río.

This costume is a set of a


blouse and a long white
skirt, decorated with a red
sash and a scarf on the neck.
CORDOBES COSTUME:
This costume is made up of a
white shirt, black pants, a
black jacket, field boots
and a Cordobes hat.

Its origin comes from the


high-class ladies who used
it for horseback riding, but
now it's worn by men as
well.
MÁLAGA COSTUME:
It consists of a velvet shirt
and a skirt with three
ruffles in the case of women,
and a white shirt with a
jacket and gray pants,
country boots, a scarf and a
hat in men's clothing.

This costume is used at the


Malaga fair.
PICONERA COSTUME:
The typical costume of Cádiz is
the piconera costume, also
known as the Goyesca costume,
which originates from the
Spanish War of Independence.

The costume is used during the


carnival celebration.
The piconera costume has
cheerful colors, both in plain
and patterned designs in
different fabrics, and the hair
is put up.
