Manila shawl
The Manila shawl is a fabric used by by
by flamenco dancers when they dance
flemish or when they go to the local´s
parties, it began to be used 4000 years
ago in China.
Comb

The comb is an accessory used by flamenco dancers when they


dress, it is placed in the women's hair, they can make a bow, braid,
ponytail or loose hair. Before, the combs were made of gold and
silver, it is very common throughout Spain, especially in Andalusia
CORDOBAN GOLDSMITHING
The art of jewellery making in Cordoba dates back to the
2nd century BC, when the Romans lived in Andalusia.
This art evolved with the arrival of the Arabs and
Mozarabs, who introduced filigree.
MANTILLAS
The origins of the mantilla go back to Iberian culture, when
women wore veils and cloaks to cover and adorn their
heads. Later, throughout the Middle Ages, women continued
to wear a wide variety of headdresses, some of them with
certain Arab influences. There are different types of
mantillas for different events (mourning, wedding, white to
represent the Resurrection of Jesus...).

Bullfighter Costume
In the 17th century, when the profession
of bullfighting emerged, the costumes

in various colours, the jacket is called
`torerilla´ and is decorated with lace of
fine white and golden thread.
CALIPHAL POTTERY
The heyday of Al-Andalus, a period during which the Muslim people
conquered and had absolute control of the Iberian Peninsula for seven
hundred years, left an extensive historical legacy in terms of art, culture,
architecture and decoration, which can still be seen today when walking
the streets of many Spanish cities. Caliphate ceramics originated as a
form of ornamentation during the Caliphate that ruled the Iberian
Peninsula during the 10th century. Many historians agree that the
palatine city of Medina Azahar in Córdoba (Spain) is its place of origin.

This type of columns have
become one of the most
famous columns around the
world. This type of columns
have colors red and white and
regular shapes. There are
over 729 columns.
Cordobán

Cordobán derives from goat leather, from


the 19th century it was used in the Middle
Ages, it is of Mozarabic origin and refers to
the city of Cordoba, famous for its
handicrafts. This is a type of leather
common in horse skin.
Flamenco dress lace

These decorations are typical


of Flemish costumes and were
created in the first quarter of
the 12th century in Flanders.
