Guidance for area delivery

Set 2
Creative Partnerships Contents/Back/Forward

Introduction
This set of guidelines is for area delivery organisations that are delivering
the Creative Partnerships programme on behalf of Creativity, Culture
and Education (CCE). The co-branding guidelines set out how to use and
present the Creative Partnerships logo correctly when used alongside
the visual identities of other organisations.

All communications with a Creative Partnerships logo will have an

impact on people’s perception of the programme. That’s why we
need your co-operation to make sure the Creative Partnerships logo
is always well presented.

Please follow the guidelines laid out in this document to promote and
protect Creative Partnerships’ unique identity. With your help we can
establish a brand that is easily recognisable across the country, by
following a few basic rules. We hope you will see these guidelines as
a positive contribution, a toolkit to help keep the Creative Partnerships
brand strong and consistent.

The logo

Our logo is the one constant emblem of Creative

Partnerships. The programme is identified by the
logo so it has been designed to reflect the energy
and purpose behind the programme.

The ribbon represents the infinite nature of

creativity, showing that there can be an endless
flow of ideas. The emphasis is on movement and
the continuous energy produced through creativity
shown by the curve and gradient colours of the
ribbon. The name and ribbon together show a
strong, yet flexible, creative brand that gives an
overall impression of dynamism.

A4 – 50mm
A5/DL – 40mm
Minimum size – 25mm

Everything above A3 should be scaled according to

the chosen format.

A3 – 65mm The sizes shown need to be adhered to at all

times so that there is a consistent feel to all
the communications produced with Creative
Partnerships branding.

Logo colours

Wherever possible, the preferred use of the logo is

in full colour. This can only be placed on white and
yellow backgrounds which have sufficient contrast,
otherwise use the black version.

Where it is not possible to use the logo in full

colour, where the reproductive quality is not
likely to be sufficiently clear and legible, use the
monochrome version.

You can also use the logo in solid black or white

Full colour logo Monochrome logo out, as shown in the examples opposite. The solid
black version can be used to give a more distinctive
look where paper or print processes would not
reproduce the gradient effectively, eg in screen
printing. The white out version can be used on
coloured backgrounds and on photography but it is
important to make sure there is sufficient contrast
between the logo and the background.

Do not use the monochrome on full colour

backgrounds or reversed out white.

Exclusion zone

The exclusion zone is the minimum area around

the logo that must remain clear of typography or
any other graphic device so that nothing competes
with it.

The formula for the exclusion zone is shown here

and applies to all sizes of logo reproduction. It starts
at the baseline of the word partnerships and ends
at the top of the word creative, to create x height.

Positioning the logo

The ideal position for the logo is in the bottom

right corner of all materials. Always apply the
exclusion zone.

There may however be occasions where the

logo would benefit from appearing in a different
position, for instance on banner stands, where
it can appear in the top right corner, so that it is
more easily seen at eye level.

Using the Arts Council logo

Whenever a piece of communication is produced

that is directly related to the Creative Partnerships
programme, the Arts Council logo must be
present but does not need to appear in a lock-
up position. For further guidance on positioning
and sizes please visit www.artscouncil.org.uk/

Publication covers

Where possible, place the Creative Partnerships

logo at the bottom right corner of the cover. Take
care to use the most appropriate version of the
Creative Partnerships logo that best fits with the
colours and design of each cover. There are four
versions to choose from – you can see how to
use them on the covers opposite. Position the
organisation’s own logo so that it doesn’t obscure
either the Creative Partnerships logo or the Arts
Council logo. Neither of these are linked together,
but allow sufficient space around them, so they
are legible and easily seen.

Posters

The same rules apply to posters as for publication

covers. Place the Creative Partnerships logo in the
bottom right corner with sufficient space around it,
and position other logos so that all are legible and
other elements are allowed space to breathe – see
the examples opposite.

right corner, so that it is at eye level, with sufficient
space around it. Position other logos in their own

Press advertisements

Newspaper
Position the Creative Partnerships logo in the
bottom right corner of newspaper advertisements.
The Arts Council logo can sit in the bottom left
corner. And the organisation’s own logo can
follow its own rules. Take care to select the most
appropriate version of the Creative Partnerships
logo, so that it appears the most distinctive in that
media – see example where the monochrome
version is used.

Full page
A full page advertisement carries the Creative
Partnerships logo in the bottom right corner. The
Arts Council logo can sit in the bottom left corner.
And the organisation’s own logo can follow its own
rules. All logos should be legible with sufficient
space around them – see example opposite.

Websites

There are no strict rules for positioning the

Creative Partnerships logo, but you can follow print
guidelines and place it in the bottom right corner.
The Arts Council logo can be placed at the bottom
of the web page – both logos should be legible and
have sufficient space around them. The logos must
appear on the home page and be positioned ‘above
the fold’, so the user does not have to scroll down
the screen to see them.
