2.1 Description of Data

Research : A study on UiTM Puncak Alam Student’s Online Shopping Habits.

Element Unit : Respondents involved in the study are the students from UiTM
Puncak Alam.
Population : All the students from UiTM Puncak Alam.
Sample : Subset of 51 UiTM Puncak Alam students.
Sampling
Technique : Convenience sampling technique.
A reason why we choose this sampling technique is because this
technique is easier than other techniques by selecting easily accessible
participants with no randomization. The advantages of convenience
sampling techniques are that it is an affordable way to gather data, it can
save time to collect the data, efficient, and simple to implement. And the
disadvantages of Convenience sampling are the researcher bias can
enter into the sampling technique and the data collected might not be
accurate.
Data Collection
Method : Questionnaire.
This study was obtained from the student population in UiTM
Puncak Alam, Selangor. We managed to obtain data from 51 students
from various faculties at UITM Puncak Alam during the 2022/2023
academic session. This study is by using Google Forms. We discussed
preparing the survey questions and we gave this questionnaire to the
respondents through the link we provided. We use social media platforms
such as Whatsapp to provide this link. We began collecting data from
respondents by distributing questionnaires on December 15, 2022 and we
took for a week to collect the data.

Link to the questionnaire was given to our respondents is,

Sources of Data : Primary Data.
As the data is collected by our group directly, then the data is
known as primary data or original data. Therefore, the primary data has
its own advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages of the primary data are the data collected were
up-to-date. The first-hand data produced when no other person’s data
has been used. Since no developed information has been used, we rely
on our questionnaire to get the information that is more recently produced
and more updated. Next, understanding data is better as we use a simple
method and easy to understand the study or the information. Lastly, the
information is more accurate. The questionnaire developed by us was
given personal attention to each of the questions we wanted to study. It
helps in making the data more valid, accurate, and more reliable than
secondary data.

The disadvantage of the primary data is that the questionnaire

must be easy and understandable. The questionnaire needs to be
prepared easily to understand if we want to get the correct and valid
result to avoid any wrong or inaccurate data.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
First of all, we would like to thank Allah SWT as finally we were able to finish our studies and
report that has been given by our Statistics for Business and Social Sciences (STA404) lecturer
to us. We would like to express our deepest appreciation to all parties who gave us the
opportunity to complete this study and report. Our highest appreciation goes to our lecturer for
the subject STA404, Statistics for Business and Social Sciences, Mr. Ashraff Ruslan, who
contributed a lot in terms of stimulating suggestions and encouragement as well as helping us in
completing our questionnaire for studies and especially the writing of this report. The purpose of
this study is to evaluate the factors that influence the buying behavior of UiTM Puncak Alam
students towards online shopping and their online shopping experience.

In addition, we would also like to express our special thanks to our respondents for their
precious time to answer the questionnaire as their feedback is very valuable to us. We greatly
appreciate their cooperation and support. And for our teammates, for their help and good
cooperation in providing suggestions and opinions throughout the completion of this project,
starting from discussing to choose a title until the end of this report. This task had been done
with all affordance by our group members even though a little bit of a problem happened while
doing this report but luckily we were able to adapt properly and wisely.

Lastly, we appreciate the guidance, comments and advice given by our lecturer especially in
providing the questionnaire for our projects. Not only that, we also have improved our
calculation skills and our knowledge on how to use SPSS software. Thank you.
