Dear Graduand,

We are happy to inform you that the Eighth Convocation of GD Goenka University for the
students who have successfully completed their Academic Programmes in 2022 will be held on
May 13, 2023 (Saturday) at GD Goenka Signature School, GD Goenka Education City, Sohna
Gurugram (opposite GD Goenka University) as per the schedule given below:

PROGRAMME SCHEDULE
Reporting Time 08.00 am
Registration & Collection of Gown/Cap 08.15 am to 9.15 am
Convocation Instructions & Rehearsal 09.30 am to 10.30 am
Convocation 11.00 am to 01.00 pm
Return of Gown/Cap 01:00 pm to 01:30 pm
Lunch 01.30 pm to 02:30 pm

Kindly send your confirmation for attending the Convocation by sending an email and your mobile
number to your respective school on or before May 5, 2023.

Graduand who do not confirm their participation will not be permitted to attend the
convocation.

Graduand who have confirmed their participation will register on the day of the convocation at the
Registration Counter of their respective school.

The Graduand, who fails to report / register by the stipulated time will not be allowed to
attend the Convocation. Convocation is a very solemn occasion therefore; following
guidelines are to be strictly followed:

A. DRESS: Formal Dress will be worn for the function as indicated below:
Graduand:
a) Gents: Kurta Pajama/ Lounge Suit with a tie and formal footwear.
b) Ladies: Saree/ Salwar Kameez/ Western (Trousers/Blazer with tie) and formal
footwear
 Guests/Medal winners:
a) Only medal winners and recipient of PhD degree are allowed to bring maximum of
two guests (parents, siblings or spouse).
b) Children below 15 years of age are not allowed.
c) Guests are also requested to be dressed in formals.

Note:
 Those who are not properly dressed will not be permitted to attend the Convocation.
 Those who do not come for rehearsal will not be permitted to attend the
Convocation.

B. REGISTRATION
Registration will happen only from 08.15 am to 09.15 am. The Graduand who fails to
report/register by the stipulated time; will not be allowed to attend the Convocation.

C. DEGREE IN ABSENTIA
The Graduand who are not able to attend the Convocation can collect their Degree from
Examination Office after the Convocation. On special request Degree will be mailed by
post from Examination Office by paying a postal fee of 500/- rupees national and 5000/-
rupees international to the University.

D. SEATING IN THE CONVOCATION HALL

a) You are required to be seated in the Convocation Hall latest by 9.30 am.
b) Once seated, there will be no unnecessary movements in the Convocation Hall and
perfect discipline will be maintained.
c) You will not leave the Convocation Hall before the function is over and the
Academic Procession has left the Hall.

E. ALUMNI REGISTRATION & MEMBERSHIP FEE

As you are awarded the degree you will be an alumni and brand ambassador of GD
Goenka University. You are requested to register as a member and fill the Alumni
Career Path Form as it allows us to know your career progression and take your
guidance for upcoming students career path. As a member you will be able to benefit by
browsing the network and connecting with fellow alumni advisors.

 The membership fee shall be as under:

Type of Member Admission Fee Annual Subscription

Founder Members Rs. 11,000/- Nil

Life Member Rs. 5,000/- Nil

Ordinary Member Rs. 500/- Rs. 500/-

Kindly note: There will be no cash transaction and the alumni ordinary membership
amount of 500/- rupees will be deducted from security deposit.

F. CONVOCATION GOWN
Gowns, hoods and caps rental cost is 500/- rupees and you will have to wear them
throughout the function. It should be returned after the Convocation on the same day.
If it is not returned the following charges will be applicable and deducted from security
money:
 Cap@ 500/- rupees
 Hood@ 500/- rupees
 Gown@ 1000/- rupees
(This will be in addition to the rental cost of 500/- rupees)

Kindly note: The alumni ordinary membership of 500/- rupees deducted from security
money will include the gown rental cost.
