Plant Food

Instructions: Print on cardstock and laminate. Cut out picture cards and title cards.

Show the child how to place “Plant” and “Food” at the top of a rug. Help them sort the
pictures.

There is a lot more to be learned about these plant/food combinations (for instance, the
process that the plant actually goes through to become the food product).

There are books called “Welcome Books” (available at Amazon and Scholastic) that de-
tail some of these processes—”From Tomato to Ketchup” and “From Sap to Syrup” are
two of them.

And, you can use the internet or reference books to find out more if a child is interested.
