Theme of the month is Cooperation

September is the beginning of a new year of scouting and "cooperation" is a good theme for the boys, the parents, and the leaders to focus upon. If we all cooperate there is no doubt our year of scouting will start off great! As you think about cooperation, think about the events (listed below) and how many leaders it takes to make them happen in the spirit of fun and learning. Hopefully you are excited to get started and ready to cooperate when the opportunities arise!

Popcorn Show-N-Sell Sign Ups

For all those who are new to our Pack, our scouts sell popcorn to fund activities we do throughout the year. We sell popcorn in two ways: TAKE HOME SALES, where we take advance orders from friends and family member, and SHOW-N-SELL, where we sell popcorn directly to customers. For anyone who sells, he will be eligible for a number of prizes from Trails End Popcorn as well as very special prizes from Pack 24. By now, you have already received your TAKE HOME ORDER sales sheet and I hope you have started taking orders for popcorn. The Take home orders will be due at the October Pack Meeting (October 23rd) and the popcorn will be available for pick up on Saturday, December 3rd. There will be big prizes for scouts who sell a lot! As has been our tradition in years past, we will be selling popcorn at Kmart, Stop & Shop, Lowes & Petco . For each hour a scout works at a Show-N-Sell, he will receive 1 ticket. The more times you you signup, the higher your chances of winning some awesome prizes. Please check your calendars and sign up for as many Show-N-Sell as you can.

Upcoming Events
Covered Wagon Derby 2011 $ 6.00 per Scout

Covered wagon will be held on Saturday October 15th from 8:30am 2:30pm at Camp Norse in Kingston. I would like to see more Cub Scouts attend this year. This event is a lot FUN for the boys. Uniforms not required for this event you can wear your Pack 24 t-shirts or dress in western attire. (Cowboys)

Angle Tree Emerald Square Mall Event

Popcorn show-n-sell & Cub Scout Recruitment will be held on Saturday, October 22nd from 10am-4pm at Emerald Square mall in North Attleboro. Please sign up for an hour of your time

PACK MEETING

Scouts, siblings, and adults are invited to attend Octobers Pack Meeting dressed in costume!

The quality of the Scout program depends on volunteer help!

The Cub Scout program is staffed with volunteers, and our success depends on family support. If everyone helps with one small part all the boys benefit. In order to continue Pack 24's success, we need NEW volunteers. Den Leaders are always busy planning their next den meeting for our boys so we really need other parents to step up and volunteer for other Pack positions available. Some of the jobs are administrative tasks that can be done at home. Please consider volunteering for one our vacant positions (or sharing the responsibility with a friend).
