An industrial robot is a robot that has been developed to automate

intensive production tasks such as those required by a constantly

moving assembly line. As they are large and heavy robots, they are
placed in fixed positions within an industrial plant and, around
them, the rest of the tasks and processes of the workers revolve.

TYPES:

Articulated robots
Articulated robots are the most common industrial robots. They
look like a human arm, which is why they are also called robotic
arm or manipulator arm. Their articulations with several degrees of
freedom allow the articulated arms a wide range of movements.

Cartesian coordinate robots

Cartesian robots, also called rectilinear, gantry robots, and x-y-z
robots have three prismatic joints for the movement of the tool and
three rotary joints for its orientation in space.

Cylindrical coordinate robots

The cylindrical coordinate robots are characterized by their rotary
joint at the base and at least one prismatic joint connecting its links.
They can move vertically and horizontally by sliding. The compact
effector design allows the robot to reach tight work-spaces without
any loss of speed.
Spherical coordinate robots
Spherical coordinate robots only have rotary joints. They are one of
the first robots to have been used in industrial applications. They
are commonly used for machine tending in die-casting, plastic
injection and extrusion, and for welding.

Serial manipulators
Serial architectures a.k.a Serial manipulators are the most common
industrial robots and they are designed as a series of links
connected by motor-actuated joints that extend from a base to an
end-effector. SCARA, Stanford manipulators are typical examples of
this category.
Robotics Now and in the Future
Robots can have a huge impact on a wide range of fields, such as:

 Military operations, mainly in the area of transport and search

& rescue.
 Industrial manufacturing, for taking care of assembly line
tasks.
 Agricultural production, where drones take care of weed
control, seeding, and soil analysis.
 Medicine with everything from disinfecting to conducting
surgery would be conducted by a robot.
 Domestic services like household cleaning, therapy, and
education.
 Nanoscience where nanobots could be developed to fight
cancer or to deliver drugs to exactly those parts of the body
that need it.
 Robotics in logistics

Impact in the world

Industrial robots have significantly enhanced productivity, safety,
and time efficiency in various industries. By performing precise and
consistent work, robots can produce high-quality results without
requiring breaks or time off. Additionally, they help reduce the risk
of injury or exposure to dangerous environments.
Names of the most used ROBOTS in the industry

RB-THERON is an excellent solution for industrial applications

such as factories or warehouses, since it is specially designed
for the autonomous transport of loads indoors.

RB-ROBOUT the solution for the transport of heavy loads in

intralogistics, designed to transport loads of up to 1 ton in
industrial environments.

RB-KAIROS+: this mobile manipulator is extremely useful for

industrial applications such as pick and place, parts feeding,
metrology, quality control.

RB-VOGUI+: un manipulador móvil versátil para aplicaciones

de logística tanto en interiores como en exteriores.
