B. RTS -

1. a) By ‘streams full of stars’ the poet means the stream water is reflecting bright light such that
the water seems to be full of stars.

b) There is not any time to see them because life is full of worries.

c) The ‘streams full of stars’ look like the sky at night.

2. a) ‘We’ refers to all human beings who do not have time to enjoy nature and life.

b) The poet calls our lives ‘full of care’ because there are too many things we have to worry
about.

c) The life full of care still seems ‘poor’ because we are left with no time to enjoy the little
pleasures and beauty that nature and the world have to offer.

C. Answer the following questions-

1. ‘Leisure’ with reference to the poem means to have the time to enjoy life, look at nature and
spend time to appreciate it.

2. If we had time to stare, we would see where squirrels hide their nuts in the grass, how the
streams full of stars shine in the daylight, and how the Beauty’s feet dance and her mouth
smiles.

3. The purpose of repeating phrases such as ‘no time’ and ‘stand and stare’ is to emphasise
them for the readers.
