Abstract
This study will address the investigation of the impact of exposure to English
language on language acquisition based on a literacy review and data collection,
to determine the most appropriate strategies of English Language exposure in
EFL class environment, to better the academic performance of third Level of
baccalaureate at Unidad Educativa Particular Cardenal de la Torre.
Introduction
By the virtue of the fact that the regulations of universities establish the
realization of pre- professional practices and the design of integrating projects,
the career of Pedagogy of National and Foreign Languages at ESPE University
aims to integrate and apply concepts and theories acquired in the sixth semester
and put them into practice in real life contexts in the English department, to
develop problem solution skills, based on critical thinking, scientific evidence,
humanism, values and professional ethics. The purpose of this study is to
observe and identify the learning environments in EFL classrooms, and
investigate the level of impact of exposure to English language on language
acquisition, based on a literacy review and data collection, to determine the most
appropriate strategies to enrich English Language in the EFL class to better the
academic performance of “Unidad Educativa Particular Cardenal de la Torre”
school and high school students in Quito-Ecuador.
3. Object of Study
The impact of exposure to the English language on language acquisition in an
EFL classroom environment will be investigated.
General objective
Plan the steps on how exposure to the English language on language acquisition
in students based on literature review and literature collection to determine the
most appropriate strategies to enrich the English Language in an EFL class.

7. Methodology
Study design
This research is applied, descriptive, and of field. The techniques for collecting
data will be the questionnaire for students. They will be given five sets of Likert
scale type of questionnaire as the instrument of this study that consists of 22
items. The study is quantitative and transversal.

Analysis
Ethical considerations
In order to obtain the data, the principal of the schools has provided authorization
for these professional practices. (ATTACHMENT 1.)
Finally, the student´s and teacher´s personal information is confidential and kept
in a strict way knowing only by the researchers.
8. Theoretical framework
According to the British Council exposure refers to the contact that the learner
has with the language that they are trying to learn, either generally or with
specific language points. Referring to the language in general, it often refers to
contact outside the classroom. The exposure to the language daily using
different techniques that can enhance second language acquisition can help to
develop the four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and foster the
self-directed naturalistic learning that in other words involves self-instruction. For
example, listening to music and look for the meaning and understand it, or
watching a movie with subtitles in English to better the listening, or writing about
some kind of interests.
9. Expected results
Find out the most updated literacy about the topic that is going to be researched.
Determine the attitude towards the use of cell phones in an EFL environment.
10. Viability
The study is viable because the academic literature is available. Resources and
budget are available. Tutors will provide advice for writing the investigation. And
the theme of the project has been developed in a different context, but not in the
field this project aims.

Theoretical framework
The school
The “Unidad Educativa Particular Cardenal de la Torre” gave us the opportunity to make
observations in the school and high school, also we were able to experience with 21
students in third year of baccalaureate the level of exposure to English language and also
with the teachers designing a curricular planning to integrate it in the development of the
learning objectives based on the behavioral, cognitive, constructivist, and connectivist
lesson plans analyzed in the lecture courses that correspond to the sixth level of the
mentioned career. This investigation started on November 21st until December 30th. The
educational institution has the necessary technology to teach its classes in a more
practical and efficient way, among these are: projectors, computers, and an English
laboratory. According to the class planning, classes begin with questions that introduce
the topic, every level has two hours of English classes per day. The institutional tutor
allowed our participation in the modification of her lesson planning. For this activity we
take into account what the author of the book “Developing materials for language
teaching”, Tomlinson (2013), consider as important inputs: adding games fostering the
playful element in learners, thinking a little further about the topics and the issues using
educational websites that contains Realia, Visual and Audio, to reinforce learning. At
the time of applying this new methodology, it was very well received by the students,
they were happy with this new experience in learning English, they felt free to talk even
though they made mistakes but they tried, they expressed their feelings, their memories,
their ideas, and opinions. After that we applied a survey to the 21 students to understand
their point of view when they are being exposed to English language.
It is the contact that the learner has with the language that they are trying to learn, either
generally or with specific language points.
Expose with the language for Example in games, activities outside the classroom and
learning experience,
3. What do you consider is the main difference between current students and 10
year past students?
The difference is that They do not have technology in order to improve their abilities and
skills.
4. What do you think of the communicative language approach as one of the basic
principles of the foreign language curricular proposal?
I Think is a good way in order to introduce the language to interact with students in class.
5. How can educative platforms foster the English language exposure?
Platforms are useful nowadys , it is able to improve english skills and learn more via
online.
Ye it does, because you see or listen about english and you learn every day.
In my opinion speaking and writing are principal skills at this time because you have to
communicate with others and be understood.
8. What do you think about the age of exposure to the English language?
I Think as soon as is possible the kid acquires the language is better to learn and the kid
will not have problems when he/she grew up.
CONCLUSIONS
In conclusion, the pre-professional practice helps us to get involved in the labor area, it is also
oriented to the application of knowledge, to the development of specific skills and abilities that
we as a students must acquire for an adequate performance in our future profession. As
students we have contributed with new ideas for generating creative materials therefore
teachers can be more creative to achieve their goals. Concluding as more exposure to the
language more language acquisition. The contact that the learners have with the target
language that they are attempting to learn help to reach the instructional goals as to interact
and communicate instead of memorizing knowledge. In the survey we can analyze that the
majority agreed and strongly agreed to be exposed to the target language to improve their
abilities and skills, also to practice English language with native speakers. 6.
