Today I am going to tell you about how to tepid sponge.
You can do this procedure to reduce your baby body temperature when they
got a fever although you gave him paracetamol.

For the tepid sponge to be effective, it must be done in the right way.
So you have to prepare somethings before you start.
1. bowl with lukewarm water, Don’t use the cold water ,ice, or alcohol, which
will lower the child's body temperature too quickly.
2. 2-3 small towels and a large towel

• First wash your hands, lay baby down on the bed and take off your baby’s
clothes.
• Use a small towel to put into the water in the bowl and squeeze it. Then
wipe the skin with a little bit of pressure in one way, so we start with the
face
• Wipe the face and leave the towel on the neck, behind the ears for 2-3
minutes, then change the towel to keep it slightly wet.
• Wipe arm by starting from the hand towards to the heart. Then leave it on
the armpit for 2-3 minute, and doing the same on the other arm
• Wipe the chest and belly and leave it around the heart for 2-3 minutes.
• Wipe each leg by starting with the end of leg, wipe from the foot towards
the heart. Then leave it at the crook, under the knee and the groin for 2-3
minute, then doing the same on the other leg.
• Turn baby on his side, facing towards you to wipe the back, from the neck
towards the heart. Then wipe the bottom toward the heart, repeat 2-3
times.
• Replace the water when the water in the bowel cools down.
• Do a each round of tepid sponge about 10 - 20 minutes until the baby feels
cool.
• Use the large towel to dry the baby and dress him with airy clothes that are
well ventilated.
• After 30 minutes, you should repeat the body temperature measurement,
you can do the tepid sponge again if the fever is still high.
• If baby starts to shiver at any time, you can dry him and dress him and then
start the tepid sponge again when he has warmed up.
• If you do the tepid sponge and take baby paracetamol, but the fever is still
high, you can take him to see a doctor.
