BLINDNESS

Definition:

Blindness is severe vision impairment, not correctable by standard glasses, contact lenses,
medicine or surgery. It interferes with a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. A person
is legally blind when corrected vision in the best eye is 20/200 or less.

Explanation:

Blindness is defined as the state of being sightless. A blind individual is unable to see.
In a strict sense the word blindness denotes the condition of total blackness of vision with the
inability of a person to distinguish darkness from bright light in either eye. The terms blind have
been modified in our society to include a wide range of visual impairment. Blindness is
frequently used today to describe severe visual declined in one or both eyes with maintenance of
some residual vison. Eighty percent of blindness occurs in people over 50 years old. Common
causes of blindness include diabetes, macular degeneration, traumatic injuries, infection of the
cornea or retina, glaucoma, and inability to obtain any glasses. Blindness is among one the most
widely occurring disabling condition. According to an estimate about 246 million people have
low vision worldwide and 39 million people are blind Almost 90% of the world visually
impaired people lived their developing countries.

What I have learned about blindness as a future educator?

I have learned about the blindness as a future educator are if we are talking about the blindness
from the word blind it is a people or a person that consider as a person with disability (PWD’s)a
person that have a visually impaired and I have learned also if there is someone or a friend that
using always a gadgets I will share my knowledge about what I have learned about blindness it is
because that if you are always using your gadgets it will cause a damaged to our eyes that can
result as a visually impaired also as a future educator I can educate a lot of youth that do not
always use their gadgets it is because it will result to Visually Impaired as a matter of fact 90%
of people are visually impaired that’s why we need to be a better person and always love
yourself do not push yourself from its limit.
