These components are cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition. This is also known as CARDIO- RESPIRATORY FITNESS. Muscular Strength • It refers to the maximum amount of force a muscle can exert against an opposing force. Muscular Endurance • It is the ability of the muscle to work over a prolonged period without undue fatigue. Flexibility • It is the ability to use one’s joints fully in a normal range of motion. Body Composition • It is the relative percentage of the body fat compared with lean body mass. SKILL – RELATED FITNESS • Skill – related fitness encompasses the skills of an individual should acquire and improve through physical activity. These components are balance, agility, coordination, reaction time, speed and power. Balance • It is the ability to maintain equilibrium while stationary or moving. Agility • It is the ability to rapidly and accurately change the direction of the whole body in space. oordination • It is the ability to use senses and body parts in order to perform motor task smoothly and accurately. Reaction Time • It is the ability to respond quickly to stimuli. Speed • It is the amount of time it takes the body to perform specific tasks Power • It is the amount of force a muscle can exert.
