Philosophy of Leadership

- Honesty and integrity

- Inspiration
- Responsibility

Leadership is a quality that only some possess. It is about positively affecting your life and the
lives of others. Leadership requires one to lead with honesty and integrity, inspire others, and be
responsible. Educators are the perfect example of someone who emulates leadership qualities.
They have the ability to reach their students and demonstrate these qualities.

Honesty and integrity are crucial qualities for leaders. Honesty is one's willingness to
communicate what one thinks or feels, even when it is uncomfortable or unpopular. Being true to
your word or fulfilling promises can also be understood as this. One's courage and work ethic are
the foundations of integrity. Having courage is speaking up when your point of view is different or
being challenged. A solid work ethic entails ensuring your work is done accurately and completely.
I am to demonstrate these in the gym, playing field, and personal life. I will always stand up for
what is right, even if it may not be the easier or more favorable option. I will put my all into my
lessons and my students.

Leaders are self-motivating, making them great inspirations to their followers. Inspiring
leaders have the ability to radiate positivity in all situations. This is crucial for educators as
students will experience hard instances in school and their life. It is easy to focus on the bad, but
having someone to provide a different outlook on the situation is essential. I want to be the light in
my students' lives that help them through the tough times. I will be sure to emphasize the good and
the positives in a situation. However, I will still pay attention to the bad or negatives. It is good to
mention both but focusing on the positives is key.

Being responsible is a trait that everyone should develop, but it is vital for someone in a
leadership position. They must be willing to take charge and be an example of responsibility.
Teachers exemplify the meaning of responsibility. Teachers are responsible for always trying their
best for the school, students, and themselves. I am responsible for upholding high standards,
educating my students on appropriate standards, and acting responsibly. It is easy to ignore minor
behavioral issues, but I will be responsible and hold my students accountable. I will teach the best I
can by attending school ready to educate my students.
