Good Morning everyone, firstly let me introduce myself my name is Krisna Surya Pamungkas. And at the
moment i'm going to give a presentation about an object that is solder.

This presentation will cover in five parts. First I'm going to talk about the description of the parts of the
solder. The second I will describe the shape and size of the solder. Then thirdly I would like to explain
about the materials and properties used in soldering. Next fourth I will tell about the position of the parts
and the connections between the parts. And lastly is the general function and the function of each parts at
the soldering iron. And I will answer your questions at the end of the presentation.

First of all, before we move on to the topic. What do we need to know about soldering? Solder is an
electronic device commonly used to connect electronic components to PCB boards or other media. Solder
is a conductor of heat which comes from electricity. Generally, part of the solder consists of the soldering
tip, the heating element and soldering handle. At the tip, there is a soldering eye that is sharp shape. On
the heating element there is nut, adapter, element cover and a cap around them. And on the soldering
handle there is a power button and power cord at the bottom.

Now we’ll move on to the second thing about the shape and size of the solder. Solder that is commonly
used is shaped like a pencil but some are shaped like a gun. Solder that looks like a pencil has a
cylindrical shape. Then the solder which is shaped like a gun has an angled shape. And the next part is
size of solder. Soldering iron has different power sizes, including 40 watts, 60 watts, 80 watts with a
voltage of 220-240VAC 50 / 60Hz.

Moving now to third topic, i' d like to elaborate on materials and properties that is used for soldering. The
solder is made of stainless steel corrosion resistant. This is because stainless steel has a high chromium
content. The oxide layer on the surface is stable so it can protect it from corrosion. Then on the solder
handle using plastic and heat resistant materials. The part used for soldering which is made of a
conducting material.

The next area I’d like to focus on the position of the parts and the connections between the parts. Solder
positioned with molten tin to the components to be attached to PCB. The soldering tip is fitted over the
heating element. And the handle makes soldering easier.

Now let’s look at the general function and the function of each parts at the soldering iron. The solder
handle functions as a handle when we are soldering so that we don't get hurt by the hot elements. Then the
soldering iron has the equipment used during the soldering process, the equipment has their respective
functions including:
1. Tin / Tinol (metal that has a low enough melting point so that it melts easily);
2. Multitester / Multimeter (used to check components before soldering);
3. Clamps / pliers (used to clamp the legs of electronic components to be soldered, so that these
components are easy to install and not too hot because some of the heat will be transferred to the clamps);
4. Soldering sucker (used to clean tinol both on PCB and components, also used to make it easier to
remove components from PCB);
5. Soldering holder (used to store hot solder when not in use).

Finally, let me remind you of some of the topic we've covered. In general that solder has three parts,
namely the soldering tip, the heating element, and the solder handle. Soldering is usually shaped like a
pencil but some are shaped like a gun. Soldering has different power sizes, including 40 watts, 60 watts,
80 watts with a voltage of 220-240VAC 50 / 60Hz. The basic material of the solder is made of stainless
steel corrosian resistant and heat resistant materials on the handle. The soldering tip is fitted over the
heating element. The soldering handle is useful for holding. And basically solder is useful for melting the
lead so that it makes it easier to install on the components and the legs of the transistor will be able to join
the path on the PCB (printed circuit board).

I will conclude very briefly by saying that soldering is a tool in doing mechanical work, especially
electrical parts. Solder has the same function as welding, but the difference is soldering for working thin
and soft metals while welding is for working thick and hard metals.
Eventually we're at the end of the presentation, if there any question or a comment please feel
