V. Course Title: Chemistry

VII. Course Description:

This is a survey course in elementary physics. Stress will be placed on basic concepts, principles, and history of the
development of physics. Presentation will include selected topics in mechanics, heat, light and sound.

This course deals also to the studies of basic principles of mechanics and is equivalent to most calculus based introductory
mechanics courses often entitled Physics 311. The course is designed to cover introductory mechanics (Newton’s Laws, energy
and momentum conservation, rotating systems, statics, gravity and simple harmonic motion) at a level appropriate for future
scientist and engineers. The course includes a laboratory component and it emphasizes problem solving techniques.
