Never Love Unless You Can Analysis

The poem is directed to women about men/love. The poet is saying and telling
women to never fall in love lest they can put up with their faults/flaws. Then he
talks about the nature of men, they sometimes get jealous about things without
much reason. He also notes how they would hang their heads in discontent.
They speak straight without thinking first. When you get mad about their doings,
they say they will repent and stop but they never do.

Men that only one saint adore/like, they always put up on a show of love to get
what they want. Beauty mustn't be insulted/looked down upon, you must admire
beauty. Flirting/flattering is just a disguise, isn’t it? a mask to hide one’s true
emotions from others. He remarks, “True hearts may have dissembling eyes.”
It means that no love is inherently pure. Lovers say so as they see love through
veiled eyes without heeding to reality.

When the relationship gets serious and requires more of his time and effort, he
will back off and quit. Even though they have time to hunt and hawk; they never
have time just to sit down and talk with their loved ones. They like fleeting thing
they never want to settle down; to sit and talk. In the end, he warns women that
if this is something that the girls can deal with/tolerate/bear, then go on you
can like, love men, and never fear.
