Honeycomb Fall Fest All-Hall

Whereas: Residents across campus were invited to an outdoor event called “Honeycomb Fall
Fest” that promoted friendship, community, and wellness through a
10 picnic, hammocking, and bonfire social. The event was a campus
wide All-Hall where students bonded and relaxed with a build your
own picnic station, smore roast, and a hammock hangout. The
“Honeycomb Fall Fest” event occurred during the bulk of the
semester and before midterms which provided students with a
15 necessary break from their normal academic duties in order to
recharge and decompress before midterm. This event supported the
mental wellness in residents across campus and promoted
community, friendship, positive relationships, and

Whereas: “Honeycomb Fall Fest” took place on October 21st, 2022, from 7:00 pm to 9:00pm in
20 the Adohi/Pomfret Lawn. The date and time of the event allowed
students to unwind and relax to combat their feelings of mid
semester fatigue giving students a last boost of motivation to keep
persevering until Thanksgiving Break, and

Whereas: The event location was optimal because the participants had the space to spread out in
25 the lawn and rotate between stations. The outdoors location
allowed for easy visualization and reached students who were out
and about walking to and from the buildings. Both Pomfret and
Adohi residents had easy access to attend the event, and

Whereas: Around October, students start to feel academic fatigue. The sociable nature of
30 this event gave students a chance to enjoy the day’s perfect fall
weather and be surrounded by their friends and peers. These

benefits promoted a sense of community, belonging, and wellness,

in a time when students needed it the most, and

Whereas: “Honeycomb Fall Fest” reached around 50 students due to the nature of having
an outdoor event with three engaging fall activities. Students were
5 able to have at least one thing they wanted to participate in, and

Whereas: Adohi Hall has pledged a total of $125 for buying smore making materials such as
graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolates, roasting sticks, as
well as picnic snacks, and other miscellaneous supplies, and

10 Be it therefore enacted: That the RIC House of Representatives allocates $165.44 for the
purpose of refunding for additional picnic snacks, dessert, and
utensils for “Honeycomb Fall Fest” (see budget below), and

Be it further enacted: That all unused funds will be promptly returned to the RIC budget.
