    Type Approval Updates

    November 2020

    1. UAE:

    On 28 October 2020, The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) launched a special page on
    its website that includes all the approved telecom devices in the UAE, which allows customers to check
    the approved devices compatible with the technical standards.

    The page aims to inform customers about the devices that have been approved and tested with the
    networks of service providers in the country. It also helps public and private entities to ensure that
    the suppliers' offers contain devices approved by TRA. The page is accessible in the tra.gov.ae site
    itself.

    2. Nigeria
    Massive civil protests were held against federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Lagos and Abuja. Daily
    administration of different offices in Nigeria were impacted. There was a 24-hour curfew in Lagos on
    22 October 2020.

    There was no official update from NCC, but local agents confirm the probability of delay in type
    approval completion in the country. Will monitor the situation closely and update.
