a) To check with JPS District or State whether the development area has existing Centralised OSD
i) If yes, submit "Surat Pengecualian OSD" to JPS State and attached the said letter during KM Submission
ii) If no, please proceed on new OSD design based on MASMA 2
- Detemined OSD type : natural slope or tank (RC or Terramesh)
- Centralised OSD calculation based on overall development area.
- Centralised OSD area shall be 3-5% of development area
- Centralised OSD shall be located at lower location and near to existing drain
- Individual OSD calculation based on building lot area only.
- Both OSD invert level must be suit to site condition
- OSD Final Discharge Invert level advisable to make it min 300mm higher than receiving drain invert level
- Please calculate required depth for receiving drain for its catchment area to prevent backflow.
- To provide inlet, primary outlet, secondary outlet, trash screen, cat ladder etc
2 To design drainage system
i) To determine type of drain : Half Round Drain, Block Drain, RC Drain, U Drain, Pipe Culvert or Box Culvert
- Please refer to local authorities' requirements.
- Minimum width of drain type to be provided as per local authorities requirement
- Minimum starting depth for drain shall be 450mm from road level or follow local authorities guideline
- Minimum depth from road level for 600mm dia & 750mm dia pipe culvert shall be 1000mm from road level
- Minimum depth from road level for pipe culvert with 900mm dia and above shall be summation pipe culvert diameter+300mm depth
- 150mm depth reserved for concrete surround and 150mm reserved for premix layers
- To check there is no crashing between drainage and sewerage pipe for crossing area
- minimum different level shall be summation of Sewerage Pipe outer diameter plus 150mm thick for drain slab base
- If depth is restricted by existing invert level, provide wider drain with more gentle gradient
- For U drain and box Culvert, please refer to manufactures' catalogue. Preferable using ready made dimension.
- To provide cut off drain for steep road.
ii) To design sump
- To provide at drainage connection
- To provide at every min 12m or 15m c/c for concealed drain. Please refer to local authorities requirement
- Sump shall be 300mm wider than bigger receiving drainage width.
- To determined maximum depth for brickwall sump as per local authorities requirement. RC Sump shall be provided for deeper depth
iii) To determine type of grating : Galvanised Iron, Mild Steel, FRP or Precast Compresssed Concret Slab
- Heavy duty type for traffic area
- Light duty type for green and walkway area
iv) To provide trash screen at last sump
v) To provide guardrail and/or MS railing next to deep drain if necessary

i) To design premix road
- Thickness of premix, crusher run and sand shall be refer to local authorities requirements
- Minimum width of road reserved shall be refer to local authorities requirements
ii) To provide road marking and road signage
iii) To provide hump at housing area. Please refer to local authorities requirements
iv) To provide type of kerb either Precast or Cast Insitu. Please refer to local authorities requirements
- 225mm Scupper drain or kerb opening to be provided at every 6m c/c
v) To design permanent entrance slab
Remark : External road design shall be refer to local authorities requirements
Remark : Internal road design shall be refer to architect and/or client design
Remark : Submission Drawings must be followed local authorities checklist
