………. Ab-initio to CPL Course

Dear …………,

1. Congratulations on being selected for the Ab-initio to CPL Course of the IGRUA. On behalf
of the Director and the staff of the Akademi, I welcome you for the course. High standards in Flying and
Ground Training at the Akademi will call for sustained hard work from you throughout the course. It shall
be our endeavor to assist you fully in your efforts to complete the course successfully and make a fine
career for yourself in flying.

2. DATE OF REPORTING:. The ……..….. batch starts on …………. therefore; you may plan your
arrival on …………...

3. ACCOMMODATION AND MESSING: It is mandatory for you to reside in the Akademi Hostel.
Single room double occupancy air cooled accommodation is provided in the hostel. Staying in the
hostel calls for a fair amount of give and take and consideration for others. We are sure you would not
be found lacking in either self discipline or and in following the norms of the laid down discipline to make
such community living harmonious and happy. Girl students are accommodated in a separate Hostel. It
is mandatory for you to take meals in the Mess Dining Hall at specified timings. Taking food to the rooms
is not permitted, except on medical advice.

3.1 A well equipped kitchen and dining hall exists for the students. Variety of simple and nourishing food is
served. Additional items are available on extra payment. Special dishes are prepared on festive occasions.

4. TRAINING: Initially Ground Training for about 5 months in all relevant subjects will be imparted.
The minimum acceptable attendance during Ground Training phase is 85%. Thereafter, Flying and
Ground Training would continue concurrently throughout the course. You may be required to go
outstation for training purpose. The Akademi, however, reserves the right to terminate your training at
any stage, if you fail to attain the desired standards. On successful completion of the course, you shall
be eligible for the award of CPL+ IR with multi engine endorsement by DGCA.

5. DURATION OF THE CPL COURSE: CPL Course duration is 24 months. This is the average time
taken by trainees who pass the ground school in the specified period (5 months) and then pass their
DGCA written tests and the R/T exam within 12 months. The trainee has to be medically fit and available
for flying throughout this period - only then can the specified course duration be met.

5.1 Shortage of resources and adverse flying environment may also impede progress. However,
IGRUA suffers from these only on rare occasions. When it happens, all organizational attempts are made
to ensure that such periods are kept to a bare minimum.

6. TRAINING MATERIAL: The Akademi is well equipped with books in the library and a Local
Area Network (LAN) on aviation subjects which can be used for reference. You will be issued the study
material, in the form of digital book on IPad and also in printed form, however, you are allowed to bring
with you books, reference material, calculators and laptops etc but are optional.
7. TRAINING FEE: The training fee is Rs. 45.00 Lacs payable in four installments in quarterly
installments commencing from date of joining.

8. COMMITMENT MONEY: The commitment money is for booking a slot in the Akademi, which
entitles you to join and do your training and it is non refundable. However the same is adjustable from
the fee and expenses payable to Akademi by you. While making draft or transferring through RTGS

for 1 installment of training fee and other deposits, the commitment money paid in advance, may
be deducted. Hence, the first installment amount is Rs. 14,60,000/- ( after adjusting Rs. 2 Lakhs
commitment money). Please send the draft/RTGS of same amount.

9. PAYMENT OF FEES & OTHER EXPENSES FOR CPL COURSE: All installments of fee are to be
paid by the due date by a Crossed demand draft payable on SBI Fursatganj (Code No.11487),
IOB/HDFC/Axis Bank Rae Bareli or IOB New Delhi or any scheduled bank in the name of Indira Gandhi
Rashtriya Uran Akademi, payable at RAE BARELI or NEW DELHI. It may be noted that no cash will be
accepted. The amount may also be transferred to our Bank Accounts through RTGS as per details
attached. However, in case of RTGS transfer the UTR No. and other transaction details should be
communicated to Accounts Deptt personally or through email on arun.igrua@yahoo.com with copy to
igrua.frontoffice@gmail.com immediately. It may be noted that if incase the RTGS details are not informed
to Accounts, interest as per rules will be charged. Payment schedule and amount is given below:

9.1 In addition to the above, the following amounts are to be deposited along with first installment:-
(a) Security Deposit Rs. 10,000/-
(b) Deposit for Uniform, Trg. Material/Nav Computer/Headphone/ Rs. 1,75,000/-
Study material etc.
(c) Advance deposit for Boarding/Lodging, Personal Accident Insurance & Rs.3,50,000/-
other expenses
Total: Rs.5,35,000/-
Note: Please note that the advance deposit for boarding & lodging and other expenses is
ad hoc deposit and may not be sufficient for entire course duration and more amount will
need to be deposited, whenever notified/informed.
9.2 The DGCA accepts payment of examination fee & license issue/endorsement charges etc
through online only. Hence the candidate must come prepared with Debit/Credit Card or Internet
Banking facility for such payments. A Public Notice of DGCA on issue is available on their website. The
current charges for exam fee & license issue are:
(a) SPL : Rs. 3,500/-
(b) FRTOL(R) : Rs. 5,500/-
(c) RTR(A) License : Rs. 10,000/-
(d) CPL : Rs. 20,000/-*
(e) DGCA exam (General) : Rs. 2,500/- per paper (Total 3 paper : Air Nav, Avn. Met. & Air Regs.)
(f) DGCA exam (Technical) : Rs. 2,500/- per paper (Total 2 paper : Tech. Gen. & Tech. Spec.)
(g) RTR(A) exam : Rs. 500/-
* Includes charges for CPL, FRTOL, IR & Endorsement of DA42 ME @ Rs.5,000/- each.

10. PAYMENT OF FEES BY APPLICANTS WHO HAVE OPTED FOR TYPE TRAINING :
Fee to undergo Type Training on aircraft A320 or B737 is Rs. 17.00 Lakhs and on aircraft ATR -72
or Q-400 is Rs. 19.00 Lakhs. Candidates have to pay Rs.5.0 Lakhs to FSTC prior to commencement of
their multi engine flying. Balance amount of Type Training fee will have to be paid directly to FSTC after
completion of CPL training.
11. LATE PAYMENT OF TRAINING FEE : A grace period of 30 days would be allowed from the last
due date for payment of installment(s), with a late fee charge of Rs. 5000/-. The fee would continue to
be collected in four equal installments spread over the duration of training / course.
11.1 Post ground school, flying training will commence only after the second installment has been paid. A
maximum of 75 hrs of flying will be given to the students who have deposited only two
installments. A maximum of 150 hrs of flying will be given to the students who have deposited only
three installments. Multi engine training (185 hrs) will be permitted only on clearing all dues.
11.2 A simple Rate of interest of 8% will be levied on the delayed payment of fee which would be
calculated on annual basis. The interest accrued on account of delayed payment of fee would be
distributed equally in the remaining installments of fee to be paid by the trainee / cadet.
11.3 If you fail to deposit outstanding fee along with the interest accrued thereon within a period of two
years from the date of joining of the Akademi, your training will be terminated.
12. B.Sc Aviation Degree Course (Optional):
12.1 IGRUA offers B.Sc. Aviation degree to those candidates who wish to enroll for the same on payment
of fee. Presently, there are 40 seats per year.
12.2 For the award of B.Sc. Aviation degree it is mandatory for the enrolled students to complete their CPL
training from IGRUA only.
13. BOARDING & LODGING: The present license fee for hostel room on twin sharing basis and messing
charges for regular meals is approximately Rs. 12,000/- per month. It does not include the extra eatable items or
eatables taken from canteens. Boarding and lodging charges may be revised from time to time.
14. FURNITURE, PERSONAL CLOTHING, AND LINEN ETC: Study table, chair, cot and mattress
are provided. You are to bring four bed sheets, three/four pillow covers (standard size), a pillow
and a quilt/blanket. Proper care of the items provided in your room is your responsibility. The cost of
damage to any property of Akademi, if any, would be charged to you. No shifting of furniture or other
items is permitted from one room to another. Initially during your Ground Studies male trainees will stay
in the old Boys hostel and once you are progressed for flying, you will be shifted to New Boys Hostel.
However, female trainees will remain in the Girls Hostel but will have to either shift to another room or
some other girl trainee will be shifted with her, if the existing partner leaves Akademi due to completion
of training or any other reason.
15. UNIFORM:
15.1 You would be provided with six white terry cot shirts, four terry cot trousers, one Tie, two grey
pullover, black Blazer and epaulettes. You are to bring a pair of BLACK formal shoe (with
laces) and four pairs of navy blue socks which are a part of the uniform. You will also be
provided two T shirts with IGRUA emblem, which may be worn during PT/Games.
15.2 You are also to bring two additional „T‟ shirts, two shorts or trousers and/or Track Suit, a pair of
sports/ jogging shoe and two pairs of socks for morning Physical Training (P.T) and evening
games. Sikh students are to bring two blue turbans and two black dusters. You may bring
swimming costume, if you wish to use the swimming pool in the Akademi. You are also to bring
Badminton/squash racquet, if you want to play these games. The actual cost of uniform would
be charged from the deposit. You are required to bring 3-4 pairs of formal Pant-Shirts for
wearing in Class room & Mess till you get your uniforms. It may be noted that Jeans & T-
shirt are not allowed in class room. It may be noted that sleepers and Kurta-Payjama or night
dress/ shorts/barmudas etc are NOT allowed in dining hall.

15.3 Winter Clothing: Winters in this part of Country is very severe. Sometimes the
temperature goes down to 5-6 degree Celsius during day and Zero degree Celsius during
nights, hence you are advised to bring adequate winter clothing to keep yourself warm.

16. TRANSPORTATION:. Transport arrangements exist for going to the airfield. State transport
buses and three wheelers ply between Fursatganj & Rae Bareli. IGRUA bus is available to Rae Bareli &
back as per laid down timings.

17. DISCIPLINE, STANDING ORDERS AND TRAINING POLICY:


17.1 Akademi has laid down Standing Orders/Conduct Rules and Training Policy for the Fg Cdts. These
are binding on the Fg Cdts for their duration of training at the Akademi. A copy of the house rules &
training policy are attached. You must read and understand the same. You are required to sign
having read these orders on arrival and conform to these during the training. Any violation of the
Standing Orders will be considered as breach of Akademi discipline, and will be treated with
seriousness that it warrants. A graded disciplinary action will be initiated, which could lead to
Termination of Training of the cadet.
17.2 Ragging of any kind is prohibited as per law. If you are found indulging in any kind of
ragging activity, your training would be terminated immediately and no appeal for
reconsideration will be accepted.

17.3.1 As per DGCA Civil Aviation Requirement, Section 5 – Air Safety, Series F, Part V, Issue I,

25 Sep 2021 effective date 31 Jan 2022 (Copy enclosed), the candidate prior to joining
in any Flying Training Organisation (FTO) is required to produce Negative Drug
Confirmatory Test Report from NABL/NABH approved pathological laboratory. You have
to undergo Drug Confirmatory Test as per stipulated procedure at any NABL/NAHB
approved laboratory and bring Negative Test Report at the time of joining.

17.3.2 Possession & Consumption of narcotics drugs is strictly prohibited. If you are found in
possession or consuming the same, your training would be terminated immediately and
no appeal for reconsideration will be accepted.

17.4 Flying an Aircraft at low altitude willfully is an offence under Indian Aircraft Act 1934 &
Rules 1937, which may attract imprisonment upto two years or fine upto Rs. 10 Lacs or
both. If you are found violating the flying rules, the punishment may lead to expulsion
from the Akademi.
17.5 Possession & Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited. If you are found under influence
of alcohol, the Akademi may take action as per rules including expulsion from the Akademi.

17.6 An undertaking, covering the aforesaid rules is being sent herewith. You are required to
submit the same, duly typed on Rs.10/- non judicial stamp paper and signed by you and
your parent/guardian and should be attested by Notary, at the time of joining.

18. LEAVE: No long leave is permitted during the period of course. Only short emergency leave on
compassionate grounds will be permitted. Leave for medical exam and RTR Exams will be permitted for
the legitimate period. The leave rules are attached as a part of house rules mentioned above. In order to
complete course in time, it is in your interest to take minimum leave and be available for continuance of
training.

19. HEALTH CARE: Regular exercises enable you to take care of your health. Minor ailments will be
looked after by a qualified Doctor at the Akademi Medical Center. When necessary, you may b e referred
to the appropriate Civil Hospital. Specialist treatment/hospitalization charges etc. will have to be borne by
you. The Akademi will take personal accident / medical coverage insurance cover for you at very nominal
amount and same will be charged from your account.

20. RECREATIONAL & SPORTS FACILITIES: Morning PT/Jogging & Evening PT/Jogging/Games
is compulsory. Cable TV is available in the Hostel TV room. Sports facilities like Cricket, Football,
Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Squash, Basketball, Pool table, Gym and Swimming Pool are
available.

21. SAFETY OF THE PERSONAL BELONGINGS: You will be provided almirah in the room and
you are advised to keep your valuable items in lock & key. You are also advised to bring two locks of
good quality with 3/4 key options.

22. DOMESTIC SERVICES : Washer man and Barber services are available at reasonable rates.

23. PERSONAL VEHICLES: You are not permitted to keep motor vehicles of any kind.

24. CLASS I MEDICAL: You may join the Akademi with valid Class I / II Medical Assessment. If
you have not undergone Class I Medical then it is advised that you may go for Class I Medical after
completion of Ground Classes of about 4 months.
25. DOCUMENTS: A proof of permanent address along with application form for allotment of
Computer Number will required to be sent to DGCA. You are, therefore, required to bring at least 05
attested copies of your address proof viz- Residence Certificate issued by Tehsildar/Sub-divisional
Magistrate, Aadhar Card, Passport, Ration Card etc. You are also to bring with you the following original
documents for submission to the Akademi:-

25.5.1 20 photographs with name printed at the bottom of 3 x 4 cm size.

25.5.2 05 photographs of 45mm X 35mm size taken on a white background without borders. The face on
the photograph must be of 35mm height and 25mm width. The photographs must be of MATT
finish.

26. The following attached Proforma/information sheets are to be completed and submitted on joining.

26.3 Indemnity Bond: Duly typed on Rs. 100/- Stamp paper and attested by Notary Public.

34. One envelope of size 27x12 Cm. with postage stamp of Rs.50 affixed on it (To be sent alongwith
RTR(A) License Issue Form).

35. Copy of Final Vaccination Report of the student and accompanying parents/relatives.

WHEREAS the Trainee has been enrolled by the Akademi as a Trainee Pilot on the terms and conditions

joining Instructions addressed to the Trainee with terms and conditions to be read as part of this Akademi.

AND WHEREAS it is agreed that the Trainee shall complete the training in accordance with the
terms and conditions set out in the aforementioned latter of the Akademi No.IGRUA:SC:….. Ab-initio
Course:…………. dated ………..

AND WHEARAS in order to secure the Akademi against expenses incurred by it on the training of
the trainee and to ensure due compliance of the terms and conditions stipulated by the Akademi and
accepted by the trainee, it is agreed that Trainee shall be liable to pay liquidated damages to the sum of
Rs.45.00 Lakhs (Rupees Forty Five Lakhs Only) to Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi as stipulated in
the aforementioned letter to the Akademi No.IGRUA:SC:….. Ab-initio Course:…………. dated ……....
Joining Instructions and as provided hereinafter, although the expense to be incurred by the Akademi in
connection with the training and the loss of the Akademi in the event of the failure of the Trainee to comply
with the agreed terms and conditions referred to herein will be far in excess of Rs. 45.0 Lakhs.

AND WHEREAS it is agreed between the parties hereto that the Trainee as well as the Guarantor
shall be jointly as well as severally liable to pay the liquidated damages as agreed to and provided in this
agreement to the intent that it shall always be open to the Akademi to proceed to recover the same from
either of the parties or both of them jointly or severally.

NOW THESE PRESENT WITNESS and the parties hereto undertake to abide by the recitals and
the terms and conditions set out herein below:
1. This agreement shall come into force with effect from the date of Joining the Akademi by the
Trainee.

2. The trainee undertakes that he/she shall complete the full training.

3. In the event of the Trainee failing to complete the training as referred in para 2 mentioned herein
before or fail to comply with any terms and conditions set out in the letter No.IGRUA:SC:…..Ab-initio
Course:…………. dated …………, the Akademi or under the agreement, the Trainee as well as the
Guarantor shall reimburse the Akademi liquidated damages to the maximum extent of Rs. 45.0 Lakhs.

4. The liquidated damage shall be payable to the Akademi in the following particular circumstances
generally described in clause 3 herein before:
(a) If the Trainee does not complete the full training.
(b) If the progress of the Trainee during the period of training is found unsatisfactory by the Akademi.
(c) If the trainee resigns during the period of training or he/she otherwise violates or terminates in any
manner the fulfillment of his/her obligations in respect of training for the specified period without the
consent in writing of the Akademi, which the Akademi may at its sole discretion give at any time.

5. The liquidated damages upto a maximum extent of the Rs. 45.0 Lakhs shall be payable to the
Akademi by the Trainee and/or Guarantor jointly as well as severally, without any obligation upon the
Akademi to proceed against the Trainee and /or the Guarantor in the first instance.

6. The Trainee and/or Guarantor, as the case may be shall be liable to pay interest at the rate of 8%
per annum on the amount that may be owing or due from the Trainee and/or Guarantor to the Akademi
towards liquidated damages in the event of failure to pay the same within seven days from the receipt of
notice in writing from the Akademi for payment in that behalf, which shall be the only condition for creation
of the liability on the part of the Trainee as well as the Guarantor for payment or liquidated damages by
virtue of these presents irrespective of any contentions whatsoever of the Trainee and/or the Guarantor to
the contrary and the event of failure to pay the liquidated damages accordingly, the trainee and/or
Guarantor shall always be liable for and pay to the Akademi such costs and expenses as may be incurred
by the Akademi enforcing and recovering the payments of liquidated damages and interest in accordance
with the terms and conditions of this agreement.

7. The Trainee agrees and empowers the Akademi to recover any liquidated damages which may
be payable by the Trainee to the Akademi by virtue of this Agreement from any dues whatsoever of the
Trainee owing from the Akademi.

8. In the event of the exigencies of the Akademi not permitting continuance of the Trainee‟s training
at any time during the period referred to in para 2 above or for any other reasons, the Akademi reserves
the absolute right to terminate this Agreement without assigning any reason.

9. The Akademi will not be liable to pay any compensation for loss or injury, fatal or non-fatal,
suffered on the ground or in the air, if any, by the Trainee as a result of or during the course of his training
except the sums that may be due to the Trainee under the Akademi‟s Rules. The Insurance is Rs.45 Lacs
for trainee while on flying training.

10. By providing the training, the Akademi does not undertake any responsibility in any form or
description for the acquisition by the Trainee of any license, such acquisition being the sole responsibility
of the Trainee.

11. The trainee would join the Akademi with valid Class I / II Medical Assessment.

12. After completion of his training, it will be responsibility of the Trainee to obtain necessary
endorsement/licence as may be required for the performance of his duties. In case he/she does not make
an attempt or fails to obtain necessary endorsement/license, he/she shall have to refund to the Akademi
an amount equivalent to the liquidated damages as provided herein.

13. The Guarantor accepts full responsibility joint by and severally with the Trainee for the payment of
all sums due to the Akademi upto the extent of Rs. 45.0 Lakhs as may be required by the Akademi to be
paid to it as provided herein.

14. IGRUA shall not be in breach of any of its obligations when failure to perform or delay in
performing any obligation is due wholly or in part to force majeure, like: war, acts of the public enemy,
armed aggression, terrorism, civil disturbances, insurrection, riot, revolution: fire, theft, explosion,
earthquake, lightning, flood or other major action of the elements: epidemic or quarantine restriction or
other catastrophe energy or other relevant utilities shortages; legislation, any act, law, order, regulation,
direction or request of any governmental or other duly constituted authority; strike or other labour troubles;
non-availability of necessary training equipment or support services due to unscheduled maintenance; lack
or shortage or delay in delivery of supplies, materials, accessories, equipment or services; any other cause
beyond IGRUA‟s reasonable practical control.

15. In the event of the above failure or delay, the time fixed for the completion of the Course by
IGRUA shall, at IGRUA‟s option, be extended for such period as is reasonable in view of the
circumstances and in all cases as a minimum for the period during which any such cause and the effects
thereof persist. IGRUA shall use all reasonable efforts to minimize the effects of a force majeure event.

16. In the event of any dispute or difference arising between the Akademi, the Trainee and the
Guarantor in relation to this agreement or any matter ancillary thereto, the matter shall be referred to the
sole arbitration of the Director of the Akademi or the person nominated by him in this behalf. The decision
of the arbitrator described above shall be final and binding on both the parties.

5. I understand that flying an aircraft willfully on low altitude or in such a manner as to cause
danger to any person or to any property on land or water is an offence under Indian Aircraft Act
1934 and Rule 1937, which may attract imprisonment upto two years or fine upto ten Lacs or
both. I also undertake not to violate flying discipline. I understand that any violation of flying
discipline may lead to my expulsion from the Akademi.
6. I also undertake not to indulge in consumption of Alcohol and if, at any point of time, I am
found to consume alcohol, the Akademi will have full right to take any action as per rules,
including expulsion from Akademi.
7. I also understand, in case, I am found guilty of any such activity, narrated in the foregoing
points, I will be liable for punishment which may be to the extent of my expulsion/rustication from

HOUSE RULE

STUDENTS’ CODE OF CONDUCT

I. AT FLIGHT OPS/CPT.

a) All students will be seated atleast five minutes before the morning briefing.
b) The senior student present will be responsible for decorum in the classroom.
c) The morning Met. Briefing and emergencies will be covered as per existing
instructions.
d) The dress for briefing will be seasonal and as published.
e) Lady students will have their hair tied and combed smartly.
f) Gentleman students will shave.
g) Conduct in the crew room will be like gentlemen. (No unnecessary noise/
cleanliness).
h) Students will report to the instructor or solos will get briefed as reqd.
i) Students will update their log books atleast till two days ago.
j) Students unable to attend briefing must inform the CF/FII personally on telephone.
k) Students who are reporting sick will report to the Doctor by 10 am.
l) Students who are declared unfit for flying/PT will inform ops of their unfit category.
m) No unfit student will stay away from FOC/PT assembly unless advised “rest in room”
by the Doctor.
n) Unfit students will not be programmed for flying for the duration of unfitness.
Students‟ unfit will not leave the IGRUA campus.
o) Unfit students will report to the Doctor to get their fitness back and show fitness
certificate to Ops.
p) Late comers for morning briefing will report to the CFI with their written explanation
and decision to fly the same day or not will rest with the CFI depending on the
genuinity of explanation.
q) Students will leave the Ops. Only as per program or with permission from the CFI or
as per daily published schedule.
r) Time for any urgent administrative/Bank work may be requested and CFI/FII may
approve accordingly.
s) Consumption of food and beverages will be strictly restricted to the Canteen.
t) The operations/ Technical staff are to be addressed as Mr./Miss etc.
u) Students will be addressed as Cadets.
v) Students will observe all flying discipline rules. Violation of any rule will be dealt with
severely & could even lead to expulsion.
w) Leave applications will be submitted in two copies one week in advance except in
cases wherein emergency conditions prevail. All entries in the leave register must be
made.
x) Students proceeding for any outstation work (Medical/FRTO etc) will collect
detention slip form Ops and produce the same duly signed by the visited agency on
return.
y) Students‟ absent for any test must report to the CFI with valid reasons.

II. AT THE HOSTEL

a) Students will be responsible for all items in their rooms and any damages/
unserviceabilities will be reported to the Hostel in-charge at the earliest.
b) Cleanliness of rooms will be the occupant‟s responsibility.
c) Valuables in the room are to be kept under lock and key however items that cannot
be so locked on a regular basis will not be the responsibility of IGRUA. Security of
such items will rest with the individual student.
d) On working days students reporting to work will wear the standard uniform. However
those who report for work later in the day/night will be in civvies but not in sleeping
dress.
e) Wearing of chappals/bathroom slippers will be restricted to rooms, corridors and not
into the dining hall/TV room nor outside the hostel.
f) On holidays students will be allowed civvies in the hostel premises and also be
permitted to be in sleeping dress till 11am.
g) Students proceeding outside the gates of IGRUA will be appropriately dressed in
shirt & trousers/jeans with proper footwear and not chappals. No dress that brings an
unbecoming name to IGRUA will be worn.
h) Official/private social functions will dictate the dress code.
i) Parties will only be permitted on days prior to holidays & weekends
j) Private parties held by students will be with prior permission from CI/CFI/CGI and
permission obtained during working hours at least two days in advance.
k) Dress code during private parties will not violate codes of morality and decency.
l) Parties on days prior to holidays will not extend beyond midnight. Food however will
be served/ consumed as per mess timings. No music will be played beyond midnight
and party wind up operations will be completed by midnight.
m) There will be no private parties including Birthday greetings at midnight on working
days or day preceding a working day.
n) NO RAGGING IS PERMITTED AND THOSE FOUND VIOLATING THIS ORDER
WILL BE DEALT WITH ACCORDING TO THE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA’S
RULING AND THEIR TRAINING WOULD BE TERMINATED IMMEDIATELY AND
NO APPEAL FOR RECONSIDERATION WILL BE ACCEPTED.
o) POSSESSION & CONSUMPTION OF NARCOTIC DRUGS IS PROHIBITED IN
THE AKADEMI. IF YOU ARE FOUND IN POSSESSION OR CONSUMING THE
SAME, YOUR TRAINING WOULD BE TERMINATED IMMEDIATELY AND NO
APPEAL FOR RECONSIDERATION WILL BE ACCEPTED.
p) POSSESSION & CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL IS PROHIBITED IN THE
AKADEMI. IF YOU ARE FOUND UNDER INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL, THE
AKADEMI MAY TAKE ACTION AS PER RULES INCLUDING EXPULSION FROM
THE AKADEMI.
q) The TV room dress code is uniform/casuals (with proper footwear).
r) Only packaged snacks and soft drinks may be consumed in the TV room & no meals
will be brought inside. Any litter of food/soft drinks is not acceptable.
s) TV room timings on working days will be up to 2200.
t) TV room timings on days prior to holidays will be up to midnight. There will be no
loud music or sound from the TV room that disturbs other members of the hostel.
u) No guest/relative/ex-student is permitted to stay with any student. The student
counselor is to be informed about any such visit and clearance for visit/stay obtained.
v) No student will enter the hostel cookhouse.
w) Working day lights out time will be 2230. Due concession on timing will be given prior
to DGCA exams and dates/timings will be published for everyone‟s information.

III. AT THE GROUND TRG DEPT

a) Students will dress according to dress regulations before entering the Administrative
Block.
b) Students will be seated/present in respective classrooms at least five minutes before
starting time.
c) During breaks between classes students should be permitted to be outside their
classrooms in the corridor/canteen provided it is not a noise/cleanliness issue.
d) Library timings will be adhered to.
e) Ground School students falling sick will inform the CGI department of their inability to
attend class/PT personally by telephone and report sick to the IGRUA Doctor by 10
AM.
f) Only those unfit students given “rest in room” will be excused attending of
classes/PT.
g) All sick students will report to the Doctor and obtain fitness certificate and produce
the same to the CGI section.
h) Students will address all Instructional staff as “Sir” and support staff as Mr./Miss and
students will be addressed as Cadets.
i) No food/beverages are allowed inside classrooms.
j) Students desirous of any enquiry with any department must inform the Counselor‟s
office to get an appointment.
k) Time for any urgent administrative/Bank work during classes may be requested and
the respective CGI /Instructor may approve accordingly.
l) Leave applications will be submitted to the CGI at least one week in advance in two
copies with all details entered in the leave register.
m) Late comers to class will give a written explanation to the CGI/Class instructor.
n) Students‟ who are absent for any test must report to the CGI with a valid reason.

IV. OUTSIDE IGRUA PREMISES

a) Students wanting to leave IGRUA premises on any day will follow the existing rule of
taking permission and documenting his exit/entry into the campus as required.
b) Students will dress/conduct themselves to bring a good name to IGRUA.
c) Any act of indiscipline that could bring an undesirable reputation to IGRUA will be
viewed seriously and action deemed fit taken against the defaulter.
d) No student will give any information to the press.
e) No student will participate in any public rally/ political activity.
f) In case a student gets involved in any law/police case; he must inform IGRUA
voluntarily, failing which it will be considered a breach of trust.
g) Any student falling ill while on leave or otherwise when outside IGRUA premises
must inform CGI/CFI if in Ground School or FOC as the case may be.
h) Any extension of leave/late reporting back from leave must be requested before
expiry of leave and the CFI/CGI may approve accordingly.

V. GENERAL

a) For any Training/Formal/Informal assembly all students must be present five minutes
before stated assembly time. Late comers will be liable to disciplinary action deemed
fit.
b) Absence from the morning PT assembly will only be excused if absence is due to
sickness informed through student prefect at the morning assembly. Student absent
from PT must report sick to the IGRUA Doctor and produce sickness certificate to the
CGI/CFI on the same day unless he is declared “rest in room”, and such unfitness
reported to CGI/CFI as stated in this code.
c) Students will be present for evening games according to published timings.
Absentees without valid reasons will be liable for disciplinary action deemed fit.
d) Students must report all sickness/health problem to the IGRUA doctor and be treated
or be referred to specialist in Rae Bareli.
e) No student must recourse to self – medication. If treatment is taken from private
doctors; a treatment report must be submitted to the IGRUA doctor.
f) Flying while under medication is not permitted unless so specified by the IGRUA
doctor.
g) No student is to fly if he is suffering from cough/cold that may even appear mild.
h) Any individual/collective issue that needs the attention of the administration must be
processed through the Mentor and Counselor.
i) Other than the indoor games provided by IGRUA at the Hostel no other games will
be played in the hostel premises.
j) Students are permitted to visit the Library between and after classes as long as they
are not absent from any class.
k) Students are not permitted to enter the offices in the Administrative Block without
permission.
l) Staff quarters are out of bounds for students.
m) Guests/relatives may enter IGRUA Administrative Block/FOC/Tarmac/ATC after
permission is obtained from either the Counselor or the CGI/CFI respectively.
n) Entering the Administrative Block after working hours is prohibited for all students
unless it has been approved by respective authority.
o) No male student will enter the Girls‟ hostel.
p) No female student will enter any room accommodating a male student in the boys‟
hostel.
q) Students will switch off lights/fans/A\Cs when leaving their rooms/TV
room/Classroom.
r) All current Rules/Code of conduct will be applicable to visitors/ex-students. Students
may advise their visitors/guests accordingly.
s) Ex-students‟ are not permitted to organize any parties within IGRUA premises.
t) All issues affecting a batch of students/all students will be informed to the Batch
Student Prefect to be thereafter processed through Mentor/Counselor/Department
head as applicable. However should the issue or situation demand immediate
attention any student is at liberty to individually approach any of the above or other
staff at any time in person or through telephone.
u) Cadets desirous of going on any picnic or any group outing will have to take specific
permission from CFI/CGI. The application must contain full details of the intended
location & before selecting such places all safety factors must be considered by the
cadets. Visit to river banks/ large water bodies/ lakes etc is prohibited.

STUDENT LEAVE POLICY

With immediate effect, admissibility of leave for students will be as follows:–

1. PERSONAL LEAVE

 Students will be granted 6 days of leave per quarter which can be carried over to the
next quarter, if unutilized. However the total entitlement of leave will be 20 days in a
year.
 Sundays and holidays, as announced by IGRUA are excluded from these 6 days.

2. LEAVE FOR RTR

 Admissibility of leave for RTR is as follows-


 2 days at RTR venue + travelling time up + travelling time down.
 Sunday and holidays are included in the travelling time.

3. LEAVE FOR MEDICAL

 Admissibility of
 for medical is as follows-
 2 days for medical + travelling time up + travelling time down.
 Sunday and holidays are included in the travelling time.

4. SPECIAL EXAM LEAVE

 Students pursuing Bachelors degree or other university recognized course are to take
permission from Director to commence/ pursue the course.
 For seeking permission, student must provide photocopies of admission documents
as proof of pursuing the said course.
 Once the Director gives approval for the above, student may avail leave for its
examination. For this, student would have to provide proof of exams (admit
card/exam date-sheet) to avail leave.
 Admissibility of leave for this exam will be duration of exam + travelling time up +
travelling time down.

5. LEAVE AT FOC

A) 30 Days to 60 Days - Any trainee, who avails cumulative leave between 30 to 60 days
will get automatically relegated to next junior batch.

B) Beyond 60 Days - Any trainee, who avails cumulative leave beyond 60 days will get
automatically relegated to two batches junior.

However, if any trainee intends to go on exam preparation leave (DGCA/RTR) after


completion of 160 Hrs of flying, he/she is permitted to do so.

6. WEEKEND
 Students are allowed weekends. Weekends will commence from 1630h on a Saturday
and end at 2100h on Sunday in no circumstances the deadline of 2100 hrs is to be
extended. Weekends may be requested for on a day prior to a declared holiday. Written
approval of CFI or CGI is mandatory. Second Saturdays being Holidays the Weekends
may be availed from 1630 hrs on Friday.

NOTE:

 During the first three months of Ground training phase leave shall be permitted only
in extreme exigencies.
 All students are to give leave requirement for the next quarter to operations by 15th
of previous quarter.
 Overstayal of leave due to non-reservation of return tickets is UNACCEPTABLE and
double number of days of overstayal will be deducted from the total entitlement, i.e. if
the trainee overstays for two days, four days leave will be counted for such period.
VI. RULES FOR GOING OUT OF AKADEMI

The flying cadets will be allowed to go out of Akademi as per the following instructions:-

1) On week days no cadet is allowed to go out of Akademi unless he/she carries


authorization slip signed by CGI or CFI or any other authorised officer and he/she
should return by 2000 hrs.

2) On Sunday or holiday the cadets may go any time during day without any
authorization slip but should return by 2000 hrs.

3) Only on day prior to holiday after 1630 hrs, the cadets may go out to Raebareli
without any authorization slip but should return by 2200 hrs.

4) NO CADET IS ALLOWED TO GO OUT OF AKADEMI PREMISES AT OR AFTER


2000 HRS UNLESS HE/SHE CARRIES DULY SIGNED AUTHORISATION SLIP.

5) While going on leave they should carry the slip duly signed introduced recently and
the Security Guard on duty should sign the same at the time of going out and coming
in. These slips should be handed over to Front Office.

6) ON ALL THE ABOVE OCCASIONS THE ENTRY, BOTH FOR GOING OUT AND
COMING IN, SHOULD BE MADE IN THE REGISTER MAINTAINED BY THE
SECURITY FOR THE PURPOSE.

7) Each cadet is to enter his/her name along with the time individually in the register.
