Fungsi simple past tense

Simple past tense adalah tense yang berfungsi untuk menunjukkan
pekerjaan yang terjadi pada masa lampau tanpa ingin menekankan bahwa
pekerjaan tersebut telah (perfect) atau sedang (continuos)di kerjakan.
Menunjukkan pekerjaan yg terjadi pada masa lalu tanpa ingin menekankan
pekerjaan tersebut sedang terjadi atau telah terjadi.
B. Rumus simple past tense
Rumus dasar kalimat verbalnya adalah: S + Verb-2 sedangkan untuk
kalimat nominal,maka kita harus membuat ‘’to be’’nya menjadi Verb-2
yaitu’’was dan were’’.

Bentuk Rumus Contoh

+ Verbal S + Verb-2 The teacher came
Nominal S + was/were + nominal I was a stamp collector
_ Verbal S + did + not + Infinitive The teacher didn’t came
Nominal S + was/were + not +nom I wasn’t a stamp colector
? Verbal Did + S + Infinitive Did the teacher come
Nominal Was/were + S + nominal ? Was I a stamp collector

@ My mother cooked fried chicken for my birthday party last week.
@ I tried to call you yesterday, but no one picked up my phone.
@ Jokowi won the president election several months ago.
@ My smartphone was the fastest loading among others.
@ She did not go to school yesterday because since three days ago she
has been sick .
@ I wonder why you did not take the scholarship to study abroad
@ I would wait for you if I was not in hurry to catch my flight.
@ The weather was not good enough to play football yesterday.
@ were you so sleepy last night that you left the show before it’s over ?
@ Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they
were to success when they gave up.
