Course/Module description:
examination of the place of Christian Palestinian Aramaic among the other

Palestinian Aramaic dialects; reading of representative texts: Biblical translations,
New Testament translations, other compositions, and inscriptions

Course/Module aims:
overview and general analysis of the dialect in the light of other Aramaic dialects
in all periods of the language, especially the relationship between it and other
Palestinian dialects; ability to read, understand, and analyze texts

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be

able to:
At the end of the course students will know the relationship of CPA to other Late
Western Aramaic dialects and will be able to read, understand, and analyze texts
written in it.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: lecture and reading of texts each
week
