Clare loves plants. Her family owns a small garden with lots of flowers and 1.  .

beautiful,” she thought. She then asked her mum, “Can we plant some lavenders in the

“No we can’t, Clare,” her mother replied, “Lavenders only grow in some places. Even if
we could bring them here they won’t be able to survive. They need the right climate
and temperature to live.”

AN ISLAND

An island is a body of land that is surrounded by water. Continents are also surrounded

by water, but they are 1.   big, so they are not considered islands. Australia is the

Last Sunday, my parents and I came across a movie theatre and we saw a poster for a
new movie. It was about a clever monkey named Peter who lived in an apple tree on a
beautiful island. I thought the movie looked very interesting, so we decided to buy
tickets and went to see it in the afternoon.
In the movie, a greedy crocodile swam to an island and saw Peter. “I’m very hungry,”
the crocodile said.
“Do you want an apple?” asked Peter.
“Yes, I like apples,” answered the crocodile. So Peter threw an apple to the crocodile.
The crocodile then took the apple to eat. He felt very happy afterwards.

The next day, the crocodile came back. He was asking for more apples for him, his wife

like to come to my house? We’ll have lunch together. We want to thank you for the
apples.”

The crocodile and his family went back to the island with Peter. “Wait here and I will
get my heart,” Peter said. He quickly climbed the tree and when he got to the top, he
said, “You are a greedy crocodile. You can’t have my heart, and now, you can’t have
my apples either.” I loved this movie. It was fantastic.
