I study at Junior High School 7 Sinjai

First of all, i would like to raise praise to Allah the Almighty God for mercy and Blessing, So i can
stand up here giving a speech in Batu pake gojeng archaelogical park. And i also would like to send
sholawat and Taslim to our prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. Who has guided us, from the
darkness to the lightness era.

Alright, ladies and gentleman, for now i am going to deliver a speech under the title "the influence of
social media on the development of teenagers."
In this digital era, social media has become an integral part of our lives. It has Transformed the way
we communicate, access information, and interact with the world around us.
Social media offers some benefits and significant impacts.

First, social media has revolutionized the way teenagers connect one another. It enables them to stay
in touch with friends and family, regardless of distance, through platforms like Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter, and tiktok, teenagers can share their experiences, photos, and thoughts instantly. Social media
has Made communication more convenient and efficient, fostering virtual communities and expending
social networks.

Next, social media provides a platform for self-expression and creativity. Teenagers can showcase
their talents, wheter it's through writing, photography, art, or music.
However, the impact of social media on teenage development is not without challenges. One of the
primary concerns is the excessive use of social media, which can lead to addiction and neglect of real-
life interactions. Spending excessive time on social media can affect teenagers' physical and mental
health, as it may lead to sedentary behavior, sleep deprivation, and even feelings of anxiety and
depression.

Social media can also expose teenagers to cyberbullying, online harassment, and the pressure to
conform to unrealistic standards of beauty and success.
Additionally, the information overload and the spread of misinformafion on social media platforms
pose challenges for teenagers' critical thinking and decision-making skills.
In conclusion, social media has profound influence on the development of teenagers. It has
revolutionized communication, provided avenues for self-expression and creativity, and expanded
social networks.

However, it also presents challenges such as excessive use, cyberbullying, and the spread of
misinformafion. To harness the positive potential of social media, it is crucial to guide teenagers in
using it responsibility, fostering digital literacy, and promoting a healthy balance between virtual and
real-life experiences.
