measured with the garment laying flat at armpit level. Fabric Requirements are based on a 60" bolt
and allows for 10% fabric shrinkage. Metric conversions are approximate and provided for your

Choosing Your Size

Measure the recipient’s chest and choose the corresponding size from the size chart. Check the
finished length and width and adjust as needed. The Men’s Pinnacle Pullover is semi-fitted
with enough ease to layer over a tee. For a baggy fit, size up. This pattern is drafted for a height
of 5'10".

Choosing Your Options

The Men’s Pinnacle Pullover includes the following options:

• Hood or Neckband
• Optional Kangaroo Pocket

Cutting Out Your Pieces

Print the pattern at 100% scale. Check the 2” box to ensure it printed correctly. Tape the pattern
pieces together along the black lines so the markings form complete circles. Lay out all pieces before
you begin cutting to ensure the most efficient use of your fabric.

Sewing Guidelines

Make sure you pre-wash and dry your fabric.

Use a 1/2” seam allowance. The seam allowance is included in the pattern pieces.

All seams and topstitching must be sewn with a serger or with a standard sewing machine with a ball
point needle and a narrow zig-zag stitch or stretch stitch. This will give the seams the necessary
stretch for dressing and play.

Assembly

Optional Pocket
Skip to Step 3 if omitting
1. Press the edge of the pocket openings over
1/2” towards the wrong side of the pocket
and topstitch in place using a double needle,
zig-zag stitch or stretch stitch.

2. Press the top edge of the pocket over 1/2”

towards the wrong side of the pocket.

Lay the pocket on top of the front piece with

the bottom and side edges aligned.

Topstitch the top edge of the pocket to the

front piece.

Baste the sides and bottom edges of the

pocket to the front piece.

*Tip: Make sure you attach the pocket

to the front piece and not the back
piece. The back piece has notches on
it.

3. With right sides together (RST) sew the
long edges of the side panels to the sides of
the front piece.

*Note: Remember this pattern has a 1/2”

seam allowance. Do not use a smaller seam
allowance, or the sleeves will be too small for
the openings.

4. Press the side panels away from the front

piece.

Optional: Topstitch the seam allowance to

the side panels. Press flat.

5. With RST sew the remaining long edges of

the side panels to the sides of the back piece.

Optional: Topstitch the seam allowance to

the side panels.

6. With RST fold one sleeve piece in half and
sew together along the angled edge.

Repeat with the second sleeve.

7. With RST sew together the short edges of

each sleeve cuff.

Bring the long edges of each cuff together so

the seam is enclosed, the raw edges are lined
up and it's now double thickness.

8. With the cuff on the right side of the

sleeve, sew the raw edges of the cuff to the
bottom edge of the sleeve. Line up the seam
in the cuff with the seam in the sleeve. You
will need to stretch the cuff to fit.

Flip the finished cuff down and press flat.

*Tip: Place your presser foot inside your

sleeve while you sew on the cuff.

9. Turn the sleeves right side out and the
body of the pullover inside out.

Slide the sleeves inside the pullover so the

sleeve seams are aligned with the center of
the side panels and the notches in the sleeve
are aligned with the notches on the back
piece.

10. Sew the sleeves to the pullover.

Turn the pullover right side out.

12. With RST sew together the short edges of

the bottom band.

Bring the long edges of the band together so

the seam is enclosed, the raw edges are lined
up and it's now double thickness.

13. Mark the bottom band in quarters. Find
and mark the center front, center back &
center of each side panel.

Slide the bottom band over the pullover so

the raw edges are aligned and match up your
marked points.

Stretch the band to fit the pullover and sew

together with RST.

14. Flip the bottom band downwards and

press flat.

Hood
Skip to Step 21 for Neckband
15. With RST sew the two outer hood pieces
together along the outside edge. Repeat with
the hood lining.

Turn the outer hood right side out.

16. Fold the hood trim piece in half with long

edges and wrong sides together. Press flat.

Find the center of the hood trim piece and

align it with the seam at the top of the hood
on the outer hood piece.

With RST align the raw edges of the hood

trim with the hood opening.

Stretch the hood trim slightly to fit the hood

opening and baste in place.

17. Slide the hood lining over the outer hood
so right sides are together and the hood trim
is sandwiched in between the layers.

Sew together along the hood opening.

18. Turn the hood right side out and press

flat. Topstitch through all layers along the
edge of the hood.

19. Overlap the edges of the hood 3/4” and

baste together along the bottom edge of the
hood.

20. Slide the hood over the pullover with the

seam in the hood aligned with the center
back neckline and the hood opening aligned
with the center front neckline.

With RST sew the hood to the neckline.

Flip the hood up and the pullover is

complete.

Neckband
21. With RST sew the short ends of the
neckband together.

Fold the neck band piece in half so wrong

sides are together and the long edges meet
up.

16. Mark the center front and center back of

the neckline and neckband. With RST slide
the neckband over the neckline and match
up your marked points. Stretch the neckband
to fit and sew together using a 1/4" seam
allowance.

17. Flip the neckband up and press flat.

Topstitch the seam allowance to the neckline
using a zig-zag stitch, stretch stitch or double
needle.
