FIJI REVENUE CUSTOMS SERVICE

Fiji Revenue Customs Service is the major funder of the National


Budget. A Statutory Organization established by a Board and
administered by a Chief Executive Officer.
The Nadi Office structure or design of the reception area is smaller in
height range between 28-30 inches. There are three functions that
attract our eyes when entering this office;
 Originality
 Business Identity
 Functionality

The reception area is built in a small space but positively impact


customers, clients and even the employees and it is very convenient.
Also there are big spacious sitting areas where you are seated
comfortably and wait to be served.
The Services provided at this Help Desk is;
 Meet and Greet customers/ clients
 Enquire of services needed i.e. revenue collection, border
protection, trade and travel facilitation
 Select relevant ticket for Queue Machine
 Provide Forms if needed to be filled.

For Switchboard all directed to Central, Suva Office only they direct/
transfer calls. Whereas the Help Desk ( in the picture) only receive calls
and take messages
Fiji Revenue Customs Service has ten available services location
throughout Fiji; Suva, Nausori, Rakiraki, Ba, Lautoka, Levuka, Savusavu,
Sigatoka and Nadi Port.

Bula Vinaka Everyone and Welcome to this seminar. Thank you
Sofitel Resort for allowing me to be part of this great opportunity.
Firstly, let me briefly introduce myself. My name is Mrs Mere
Aditukana. I am a Front Office Executive Officer and
on behalf of the CEO and the Management Team of Fiji Revenue
Customs Service its an honor to be at your presence today.
Let’s start of by asking ourselves these questions;
1. What is a Front Desk Executive?
2. Why is it important to have a Front Desk?
Front Desk Executive is an area where customers, clients or visitors
arrive and first encounter a staff at a place of business. And it is very
important to have a Front Desk because it is a starting point which
shows your customers, clients, visitors the soul of the organization.
Some Roles of the Front Desk Executives varies based on the nature of
the organization but some tasks are commonly a part of the job.
 Roles:
 Welcomings – greet everyone who enters.
 Presentation- reception area should always have a pleasant
atmosphere
 Promptness- how you handle customers, your body
language
 Courtesy- Golden words: thank you, I apologize, Please,
excuse me, may I please
 Provide Service- very helpful and knowledge of the facility
 Professionalism- be presentable the attire you wear.
AN OVERVIEW

For any work force whether it’s in a hospitality n tourism industry, any
government organizations or private sectors we the Front Office
department tend to have some same responsibilities.

These are ways to meet the objectives of a work place or organization


as a whole;
 Appearance - top class, clean and spacious
 Meet and Greet with a smile, presentable, courteous
 Team player, helpful
 And you should be prepared when and how to deal with
unexpected attitudes from customers or clients

presentation. I do hope that we all have learned some important roles
and responsibilities of Front Office Executive and that we will apply it to
our day-to-day work.
