3. How important are Health Education and Health Literacy in relation to the transmission and spread of the
COVID-19 pandemic?

Answer: This help the health care worker and the community to lessen the transmission of spread of the
covid-19 pandemic in our country. By giving the information the community like giving them brochure about
the effects of covid – 19 in our body. Also, the health care provider teaches the community on how we can
protect our body from covid. Like staying at home, and if we go outside we use facemask for protection. If we
go outside and upon entering home we disinfect and if we go outside we buy essential things only. This are
some example of health education and health literacy that can help the community have an idea or
background knowledge so if there is another coming diseases they are aware and they know what to do.

4. Is it same to speak of Health Education as Health Literacy?

Answer: Health education can try to educate people on matters of health but this needs to be internalised to
become effective health literacy. Having the knowledge does not always translate into behaviour. Since
health literacy has a positive relationship with health promoting behaviors in diabetic patients, health care
providers need to concentrate on increasing the health literacy of their patients rather than solely
concentrating on increasing their knowledge, thereby facilitating the development of health promoting.
5. Make 3 insights about the video.

Answer:

1. My First insights in the video that I watched is, Health literacy can help us prevent health problems, protect
our health, and better manage health problems when they arise. They aren't familiar with medical terms or
how their bodies work. They have to interpret statistics and evaluate risks and benefits that affect their health
and safety.

2. The Second insights is health literacy important in communicating to your patient so they understand what
are your saying and they have prior knowledge about their health and promoting a better health in a
community. Also, they have a medical knowledge like medical term so that the patient and physician are
understanding each other that’s why health literacy help the patient and the physician or the health care
worker.

3. Lastly is that if we have a high health literacy is associated with less hospitalizations, less use of emergency
care, increases use of preventive services, stronger ability to interpret labels and health messages, powerful
health status, low mortality, and low health care costs, this is why health literacy is important in teaching the
community about health and what is the important of health.
