SUMMARY ON COMMON EXPRESSIONS

Every country and culture have its common expressions that they use to express an idea or
phrasemes see that in the video provided by the teacher we saw some kinds of expressions that
we who do not speak English can see through movies or series that we love to see and these
American expressions are used.

Some of the expressions that we hear in this video, which I will explain below:

Whatever: pronoun is an informal expression that is used a lot to say that whatever it is or does
not matter to you, it is also used a lot in our Spanish language.

My bad: This expression is used a lot to defend against something bad that was done, it is widely
used by athletes.

Lose touch with: when you chat with someone and talk about someone you don't see for a long
time or if you've lost track of them.

Plead the 5th: refers to the 5th amendment of the constitution and is used daily when you do not
want to say something that may involve you in something

Like: It is a meaningless interjection when we have a conversation it is used more by young


people.

To give: it's like a way of showing support with words.

John Hancock: It was supposedly the first signature on the independence act and the signature
was large so people use it commonly.

To get a head of: It is used when we are anticipating something and they make us see that.

Tts all good: is used when to say to relax.
