Dear Local 18,

RE: Memorandum for Settlement reached with City of Vancouver for Collective Bargaining term
2022-2024

Earlier today we met with the employer and reached an agreement for this round of collective
bargaining that we will be bringing to you for a ratification vote in the coming days.

Deal Highlights:

● Wage rate adjustment(s) of 3.5%, 4.5%, 4.5%, for 2022, 2023, 2024 with full retroactivity.
● Fire Prevention minimum rate 106%
● All Lieutenants (Group 1 and Group 2) to 117%
● Benefit Improvements:
○ Chiropractic and physiotherapy, combined annual max to $2200
○ Acupuncture, massage and naturopath combined annual max to $2000
○ Psychological services increased from $1,200 to $2,500
○ Overall lifetime maximum for Extended Health Benefits increased from $1,000,000 to
$2,000,000
○ Vision care increased from $400 to $600 every 24 months
○ Laser eye surgery increased from $500 per eye to $2000 per eye
○ Eye exams increased from $100 to $150 every 24 months
○ Significant improvements to Plan B and Plan C of dental
● Improvements to Maternity Leave
● Earlier accrual of sick time for new employees
● Expansion of living boundaries
● The addition of Truth and Reconciliation day as a statutory holiday
● Very minor concessions

As required we will be hosting two membership meetings in the coming days to present the settlement
agreement to you, answer your questions and to vote on it. We will be providing further details of the
agreement in subsequent communications in the coming days.
