IDSS MACHINE: An Automated Student ID

Scanner System Machine
MAY 30, 2023

I. PROJECT OVERVIEW

The attendance record plays a significant role in the academic achievement of

school students. Insufficient school attendance leads to low academic achievement.

School guards, staff, and chosen students have to spend a lot of time collecting the

IDs of the latecomers every day, which consumes their time too. This paper aims to

discover the appropriate way to manage attendance in school using computer-aided

tools. The use of bar code scanners is popular among educational institutions

institution which are not financially supported, and it does not require well-trained

people to install and fix them. The bar code scanner is then used to scan the student

card, which contains the students’ identity, with an ID barcode scanner, and the

system notes down the attendance as per dates. The system then stores all the

students’ attendance records and generates a defaulters list for the late students.

Every student is provided with an ID containing barcodes; each barcode represents

the identification of each student. Sto. Tomas Senior High School have been

continuously gathering new and perennial concerns from the students, staffs and

teachers. First is the time-consuming act of assisting the students. Second is

missing IDs after the officers collect it. Third is the fooling act of students where they

write different names instead of writing their own on the log book. Fourth is the lack

of school personnel to assist the students. And lastly, the monitoring of students

when they go in and out of the school. Within this presented project every

complication can be secured and stabled along the time being. Beginning with

manpower, with so much effort being exerted not everything can be assisted by the

school facilitators, in this way this project system for identification cards probably

might lessen future labor. Second works being done properly, as expected since it is
a machine works can be done easily than the average man could. Third, the no more

missing Identification cards, due to its automated and intelligent system no cards

can be put to risk and be victimized of misplacement, and lastly the relief of the

students, teachers, and so are the parents. In conclusion this project only aims

alleviate and improvement among the school system and facility in terms of simple

manpower and day to day situation. This also progresses the safety of the student’s

well-being either in or outside of the school property.

II. DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

The methodology and design of an ID scanner system for schools will depend on the

specific needs and goals of the school, as well as the available budget and resources. Here

are some considerations for an effective ID scanner system:

1. Define the Goals and Objectives. The first step in implementing an ID scanner in

school is to define the goals and objectives of the system. This includes identifying the

specific reasons why the scanner is being implemented, such as improving security or

tracking attendance.

2. Choose the right hardware and software. Once the need for an ID scanner system is

established, choose the most suitable hardware and software system to develop the ID

Scanner. This may include the partnerships between Industrial Machinery Manufacturing

Companies or Consulting with professionals on the related field.

3. Develop procedures. Develop clear and concise procedures for using the ID scanner

system, including who is authorized to use the system and how the information will be

collected, stored, and analyzed.

4. Plan implementation. Once the ID scanner is chosen, the administration should plan

the implementation process. This may involve training staff, installing the scanner, and

creating policies and procedures for its use.

5. Data analysis and reporting. The school can use the information gathered from the ID

scanners and tracking software to analyze attendance patterns, identify areas of concern,

and generate reports for teachers, administrators, and parents.

6. Monitor effectiveness. After implementation, the administration must monitor the

effectiveness of the ID scanner to assess whether it is achieving its objectives. This may

involve gathering feedback from stakeholders and analyzing data generated by the scanner.

Overall, an effective ID scanner system for schools should be designed with the goal

of improving security, streamlining administrative processes, and enhancing the overall

safety and well-being of students.
