Francisco, Cherry Lyn A.

Learner-centered pedagogy is a teaching approach that places learners at the center of the learning
process and empowers them to direct their own learning journey. In this approach, the teacher acts as a
facilitator or guide, rather than a sole source of knowledge.

The learner-centered approach prioritizes the needs and interests of individual learners, and encourages
them to be active participants in their own learning. This can be achieved through collaborative and
interactive learning activities such as group discussions, problem-solving exercises, project-based
learning, and student presentations.

Learner-centered pedagogy also values the voice of the learner and takes into consideration their
background, experiences, cultural differences, and learning styles. Teachers who adopt this approach
create a warm and inclusive classroom environment, where learners feel respected, heard, and
supported.

By using learner-centered approaches, learners are more engaged, motivated, and invested in their
learning. In addition, they develop skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication
which are valuable not only in the classroom, but also in their future lives and careers.
