Law aims to uphold social justice.

Justice is based on the concept of right and wrong morality,

equality of rights, and fairness. These two concepts aim to create a more just and equal
environment. Based on justice, laws should be enforced and interpreted in a fair manner. Therefore,
the laws should be based on justice, the governments should enforce their laws fairly and equally.
But unfortunately, that is always violated in the law and case, or happen disrespected and executed
in a biased and one-sided manner (Difference between Law and Justice n.d.). The selected issue
shows how the law successfully delivers justice. In 2019, Loh Siew Hong was abused by her ex-
husband and divorced from her ex-husband. And her ex-husband changed the religion of three
minor children from Hinduism to Islam without her knowledge and consent. In addition, Loh is
seeking to declare that her children are Hindu and legally unfit to practice Islam without her
approval and to declare that her ex-husband, Muhammad Nagashwaran Muniandy, is not legally fit
to allow the Muallaf registrar to convert their children without her approval As such, Loh is seeking
to revoke her child's conversion to Islam. She tried to declare Perlis's legal provisions allowing
parents to unilaterally change their children to be unconstitutional. Loh was given full and sole
custody in March 2021 after being separated from her three children, allegedly due to her ex-
husband's actions, and the nationwide lockdown due to Covid-19. After the High Court ordered their
release from various shelters where they were held after separation, and granted her habeas corpus.
The single mother was finally reunited with her children on February 21 this year. In the end, for the
case, Loh Siew Hong cleared the first legal hurdle when he challenged her three children to
unilaterally convert her children to Islam without her consent (theedgemarket.com n.d.). The law
delivered justice to this Hindu mother.
