This is a practice paper written to help you prepare for the online format of the ABRSM
grade 5 music theory exam.

As the exams are now online, this paper is only a representation of how the actual exam
could look. But, the topics, knowledge required, style and structure of the questions closely
resembles the sample papers and exams from previous years.

It contains 7 questions. You should answer them all.

You are allowed 2 hours to complete this paper which is out of 75.

You will need:

• 50 marks for a pass

• 60 marks for a merit

• 65 marks for a distinction
