BACKGROUND TO THE STRATSIM MODULE
StratSim-Marketing Strategy simulation is a comprehensive marketing strategy simulation applied to the automotive industry that demonstrates the impact of marketing decisions on other functional areas of the business. Marketing strategy is at the heart of all simulation decisions. Teams must target the most profitable consumer segments, exploit B2C/B2B opportunities based on market attractiveness, and position their vehicle lineup based on company resources, using advanced marketing research techniques to identify the needs and potential of target segments. The work to be delivered is a wide variety of written and oral productions that allow students to work on the content (in marketing) and on the form (in English). Teachers from the Marketing Department and the Language Center will intervene throughout the simulation ??? to assist students in their work, to make suggestions and corrections and grade final assignments .

The course presents the fundamental concepts related to marketing strategy (CSP: segmentation, targeting and positioning; competition, brand), as well as the relationship between market research, operational marketing and strategic marketing. Students apply the concepts studied to product and service marketing, B2C and B2B marketing, international marketing, as well as a realistic marketing simulation and several case studies. SEMESTER 1 (1 CREDIT – _COMPULSORY) – _ENGLISH FOR STRATSIM In support of the common core module "Marketing /strategic planning", this compulsory module allows students to work in English in the context of a simulation close to real working conditions ORGANISATION ENGLISH FOR STRATSIM will comprises 3 sessions of 3 hours of face-to face teaching, at which attendance is compulsory, and at least 6h of independent work on GlobalExam. EVALUATION Final coursework evaluation (40%): production of one written assignment for a specific audience and purpose, based on the student teams_’ _decisions and performance throughout the STRATSIM simulation. Final examination (60%): the completion of a mock TOEIC or TOEFL examination at the end of the semester on GlobalExam. For the coursework mark in English, (40%), the assignment is: A Letter to Shareholders Task requirements will be posted on the Stratsim platform and on myICN for the duration of the module. Students will receive a feedback sheet for the language assessment.
