METHODOLOGY

A. Research Methodology
This chapter highlights the discussion of the research to answer the questions on this
research study. By conducting the research through surveys, we have understood the Effects of
Online Games on the Academic Performance of the respondents using Google Forms. The
answers who participated in the survey are provided in this chapter. Qualitative methodology is
used in this study. Also, data collection or data gathering, as well as resource and investigation
planning, will be provided in this chapter.

B. Research Method Used

A qualitative method was used in this research study. This is a data analysis method of
categorizing data based on physical appearances and other related properties. You can also refer
to qualitative data as categorical data. You can gather the data in this category through
observations, interviews, or other similar methods. In line with this, we used surveys for this
research.

C. Population Frame
Since the survey was conducted via google forms, it was sent randomly to students from
all around the Philippines. There were 150 google forms link sent to random students.

D. Description of the Respondents

There are 105 respondents in this research/study. They are random students from different
schools here in the Philippines aged 11-21 years old. Most of them are college students (45.7%),
followed by high school students (30.5%), then senior high school students (21%), and
elementary students (2.8%).

E. Research Instrument
In this study, researchers used Google Forms in conducting the survey. It is a form-
creation and data-gathering tool developed by Google that allows you to create surveys, quizzes,
and questionnaires with multiple question types.
F. Data Gathering
As we, the researchers, are studying thru online classes, we have decided to collect the
data thru google forms which is an online survey. We also have come up to conduct data
collection online as it is much easier for the respondents. Respondents – which are the students,
used their mobile phones, laptops, computers, tablets, and other types of gadgets to answer the
survey/online form. We need to have at least 100 or more responses from the respondents to
proceed to the next step.
Upon answering the Google forms, we will be collecting all the responses or data through
the same platform that we used to conduct the online survey to provide a conclusion.
